Without a doubt. I doubt the any teams would leave the ACC right now, but even if it were NC State, it would be a good get for the SEC.If UNC was on the table for the SEC, I feel like they would have been added over Missouri in 2011.
not at the forefront but i would bet if teams keep moving Ap st could get a AAC call or somethingIt's boring being a fan of a team never in realignment talk.
WVU, VT and I think Wake were all original possibilities. Mizzou to the SEC happened pretty quick, like less than two weeks from speculation to announcement I thinkIf UNC was on the table for the SEC, I feel like they would have been added over Missouri in 2011.
If the SEC goes to 16 teams, the B1G, Pac and ACC would soon follow.so does anyone think Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Baylor, Texas Tech, and West Virginia can sustain a conference even if they got the likes of BYU or Boise or Houston?
It seemed like I read Mizzou was rumored to the SEC one day and it was official the nextWVU, VT and I think Wake were all original possibilities. Mizzou to the SEC happened pretty quick, like less than two weeks from speculation to announcement I think
Possible, but I think the ACC likes teams that are in big metros. That ain't Boone, NCnot at the forefront but i would bet if teams keep moving Ap st could get a AAC call or something
Pac gets stuck. none of those team bring much to the Pac. any division with them would be lacking any kind of power. If the SEC goes to 16 teams, the B1G, Pac and ACC would soon follow.
Some of those teams would probably have to join a G5 or go independent for football.
There was speculation a few months prior that they'd leave because they were pissed about the LHN but I feel like the most likely destination at first was the Big 10, and then it fizzled down. That was my freshman year there and I remember at first fully expecting getting Big 12 teams every year and then the SEC just kinda happened. That was actually really cool going to watch Big 12 opponents one year and SEC the next.It seemed like I read Mizzou was rumored to the SEC one day and it was official the next
Wake as in Wake Forest?WVU, VT and I think Wake were all original possibilities. Mizzou to the SEC happened pretty quick, like less than two weeks from speculation to announcement I think
Big10 goes rogue and ropes in UNC and Duke offering the real money instead of that nickle and dime TV deal the ACC has and the embrace that they are now just a basketball conference. That would be interesting.
I think the Big Ten might pursue some combo of WVU, Kansas and Iowa State.
ACC might pursue WVU along with ND as a full time member.
PAC 12 could expand east and try to expand the conference's footprint.
Yes, but that wouldn't be the pod. More like UT, OU, Arky and Missouri ... no pod can have 3 of the Big 8 (UA, AU, UF, UGA, LSU, UT, UTjr, OU), although UTjr really isn't part of any Big X any more.Would the SEC move to a 4 pod system if they go to 16.
Oklahoma
Texas
Texas A&M
Arkansas
It's becoming nearly impossible for a non-football factory school to win a conference titleSome teams would welcome the competition, but most wouldn't.
It just became that much harder to do.
In every sport.
Dont think that was ever serious actually, just skimmed something saying they were looking at "traditional" southern states like Virginia and NC to find a match and listed possible schools.Wake as in Wake Forest?![]()
