TBH I wish Texas would come to the Big 10 west.

AAU
A Top 10 winningest blueblood program that would take the Big 10 to 5 total going into the next media rights negotiations.
A MASSIVE tv footprint

Face it, they're not going to get near the influence in the SEC, PAC, Big 10, or ACC that they enjoyed in the Big 12.

I know it's not going to happen. Just saying I don't hate them that much that I refuse to see the value they would bring to the conference.

I flip them shit but they're haven't done anything anybody else wouldn't have done for themselves given the opportunity. I can admit that.
It might be impossible to see that happen twice, but it might be possible if Texas gets competitive in the money sport enough so to bury Saban teams consistently.

I do not have an answer to that.

I didn't even know AAU existed until Nebraska joined the Big 10.
That's with me taking correspondence classes through the University of Maryland (AAU) when I was in the military overseas.
IIRC, the University of Chicago was in the B1G at one time. They didn't like all the transition of emphasis on athletics and said adios. But, I'm old and don't remember shit too well.

Being reported that the buyout of the Longhorn Network is $150 million.
ESPN is going to pay the exit fee for Texas and Oklahoma so a clean cut can be made, and play start next year.

Just a rumor

Tom Osborne tried to warn Bill Byrne and the rest but it took about a year or so to sink in. Sorry that you will have to deal with those Pricks again. So when will the Conference move the SEC headquarters to Dallas?
Man, the butthurt runs deep. You really think that UT will come in and run the SEC? That HQ will move from Birmingham and the Alabama Mafia to Dallas? They are giving up the LHN, which was a major point of contention, to join the SEC. They will obviously have a voice, but they won't run the league.

FWIW, I am confident that over the years, Dallas will get pulled in. Jerry Jones is an Arky grad, and I'd bet that at some point the SECCG rotates between Atlanta, Dallas, and NOLA. I love the idea as I like visiting different stadiums and having varied experiences. And some of their fans are insufferable ... just look at a few of them here @Thiefery. But, I've had to deal with Auburn fans all my life, I'll do fine with UT fans. Plenty of asshole fans to go around.

So $150 million + $76 million + $76 million = $302 million?

The LHN is an ESPN entity. Why would they have to pay anybody anything if it's rolled into the SEC Network?

Your just looking for a easy W for Nebraska.

Butt hurt by quoting past history FFS-Yeah right. You think Texas is going to sit back and not try push their agenda?

I don't see Texas doing anything crazy when it joins the SEC. It's kinda like a new husband walking up to Jed Clampett and telling him "When I'm finished with Elly May she's gonna look like she's been rode hard and put up wet". First of all, Jed owns a squirrel gun and he knows how to use it. And Jed's real rich which means he knows people who'd help him if he needed it. And Elly May's also got a brother who might not hit you but he darn sure could grab you and start tearing off pieces. There's not going to be any drama from the Horns except from a possible flare up with aTm but we're all looking forward to that anyway aren't we?

This hillbilly makes some good points.

Maybe not right away. However, Texas has a way of picking at sores until they fester.
They can get the SEC little guys together in attempt to start trouble for their own benefit.

Bye Red.

You have diarrhea of the fingers and have stopped offering any entertainment value. Sorry you're so deeply affected by this stuff. Peace be with you.

Well, looks like it is a done deal and Texas & OU to the SEC.

10 years ago when all the T-Sip idiots would claim A&M was "running away from the big 12" I pointed out that A&M was going seeking more stability, away from a group of assholes in Austin that will stab you in the back if it will make them $.25. I said A&M needed to get out before Texas decided they could do better somewhere else and left A&M standing holding our peckers. Back then it was Texas flirting with the Pac12 in order to negotiate the LHN. A&M told Texas to fuck off and everyone thought we were stupid for looking out for ourselves instead of hoping Texas isn't run by a bunch of two faced pricks. Well Tech and OkieSt...how do you guys feel about it now?

A&M was proactive and did what we wanted and what was best for us, not listening to any BS from T-Sip fans. Now we see Texas is chasing A&M around to greener pastures. They can't even be relevant in a weak ass big12, but now wants to join the SEC. Good stuff.

You have hitched your horses to the Texas wagon, and it'll cost ya. May take another decade, but it'll cost you. The fact that Texas is bandwagoning on your success (albeit against what is essentially G5 level conference foes) should give you pause. But it doesn't. And that's on you.

I wasn't talking about Husker fans, I was talking about not caring for the current Big12 fans who talked shit about A&M leaving because we were able to see the writing on the wall that said Texas will stab them in the back the first chance they get.
So my Longhorns stabbed everyone in the back except ou? Yeah because the rest of the conference had places to go back in 2011.. hell they offered unequal revenue (that aggy, NU, ou, UT already were getting). Yet Texas said no, everyone get the equal share for it's two tier of rights and everyone owns their tier 3.

Those same schools made more money than PAC and ACC schools.. and for 10 years.

Landscape has changed but if y'all wanna all of the sudden have a place in your hearts for Baylor, KSU and Iowa St be my guest.

Don't matter the pure evil is now in the SEC

Why are you so stupid that you can't read?

By the way, your gif doesn't get the reaction you think it does. I think it's funny as hell. The way that whole thing went down was hilarious. No Dawg fan is mad, or embarrassed by it. It's like me posting the Auburn player getting attacked by UGA ... it's funny to us all. I don't imagine when I post it that some Auburn fans get bent out of shape like a Texas fan seeing the horns down sign. You guys in the Big 12 get your panties in a wad when someone does a horns down sign ... those of us in the SEC are made tougher. Toughen up, and welcome to the big leagues.
