that is a classic youtube video! i remember watching that when i was still in high school

tbh, my favorite part about this video is that 1971 Nebraska finished the season with wins over the #2, #3 and #4 ranked AP teams

and we already know how great 1995 Nebraska was. that doesn't matter to Herbstreit though

I'm partial to the '71 team. I was 9 years old and will never forget my living room on Thanksgiving day (Game of the Century vs OU). They had been #1 and #2 for 7 weeks straight prior to the game. It was time to clash, and what better day to do it?
Probably 30 people in my living room. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Parents, and Grandparents. The vast majority standing or sitting on the floor. Shit was crazy. The lead changed hands 3 times in the 2nd half. OU was just as good. Time simply ran out on them.

It's still to this day the Most Watched college football game ever.

#1 Nebraska defeated #2 Alabama (38-6) in the Orange Bowl.
#2 Oklahoma defeated #5 Auburn in the Sugar Bowl
#3 Colorado defeated #15 Houston (29-17) in the Bluebonnet Bowl
Bama finished #4 after the Orange Bowl

Oklahoma's only loss.... Nebraska
Colorado's only losses.... Nebraska and Oklahoma
Alabama's only loss.... Nebraska

Herbstreit: "THEY DIDN"T PASS."
Holtz: "THEY DIDN"T HAVE TO."
 
My favorite Herstreit was the look on his face and Lee Corso barely able to contain himself from laughing when Herbstreit was calling a game in Oklahoma and an earthquake hit.
