If I look at a map, going West to East would mean the current PAC 12 plus Texas Tech for 13...and then it gets dicey. Norman, Fort Worth, Waco and Austin are all on I-35. Without looking up longitude, it appears Austin is the furthest West. Norman and Fort Worth look about the same with Baylor being ever so slightly East of all three. K-State is just a little more East than those four. Again, using I-35 as the line.

It will get even more dicey when you head further East and then divide North/South.
Pac 12 Texas Tech, Texas, Oklahoma and TCU appear to be the most west.

also 65/4 isnt actually divisible evenly. so would actually need to add 3 teams and have 4 regions of 17 teams or add 7 teams and have an even 18 teams per region.

if its 3 i would vote BYU, Cinci, Memphis
if its 7 also add Boise, Houston, UCF, and ? Temple? Navy? not sure

What a fucking idiot.

Not really, he is probably just looking for political points in the Kansas region to get re-elected and doesn't truly believe the crap he is peddling. Every politician is out to just get political points from their bass/community.

No, really. At worse, ESPN violated a contract. Happens all the time. It will get worked out. Happens all the time.

The idea that they did anything illegal is ludicrous. I prefer that my US Senators actually pay attention to things that matter. This doesn't matter in the scheme of things.

On second thought, I actually hope that all US politicians get so distracted by CFB expansion that they don't do a damn thing. They are already good at that, but if this makes them better at being worthless, and they do less harm maybe this is a good thing. But, he's still an idiot.

I don't want this to turn into a politcal thread, but that ain't gonna happen. I'm a cynical old fart but have seen them only pick low hanging fruit. Nothing that is difficult.

We had a major clusterfuck this past winter with our "power grid" here in Texas. The guv and the tree full of owls known as the Texas Lege spewed a lot of rhetoric about "fixing it". Then they started chasing shit like you reference and any "fixing it" went down the toilet.

Exactly.. but they were all quick to make UT president come down for a roast for leaving it's sister schools behind lol.

Politicians want to win office. Americans today don't have a sense of reality and are driven by emotions. This was an attempt to just grab political points/appeal to his base. So technically, it is not a dumb decision for the Senator because he is likely doing it for ulterior purposes and probably achieving his true goal.

If you can justify politicians acting well because it’s politically expedient out advantageous, you can look past a lot of idiocy.

Let’s start with the idea that all politicians are fucking idiots. With that as the baseline, this guy is a super idiot!

Hell, I think we should give them a medal and build a monument to anyone that does!

What you don't realize is that most of these politicians are just regular joe put into the office. I always tell people that if you want to see why American Politics are so messed up, just look in the mirror (or at your neighbors).

I'd reply but this isn't the politics forum.
