Texas getting Cutcliffe

You guys do know that you need more than DL and TE's to win the natty, right? I am guessing you guys are doubling down on your recruiting in Sweden and there is a sleeper Swede QB that none of us know about.
We pretty well just won a natty through the front 7 and a TE

King sucks @fordman84 .. I'd bet Max Johnson wins the gig this spring/summer

but I admit that i'm intrigued with Eli Holstein

Perhaps. King was way better than Calzada, but that's not saying much. I look forward to another QB competition and the best player winning the job. Max might be better, though I'm still high on King. Experience and toughness have to get you some points, though.

Max definitely got some experience last season

So because Purdue and Ohio State were once in the same division, they are “rivals”. Is Rutgers and Ohio State “rivals” now?
They probably have some stupid trophy they exchange so sure as long as the fans view that way. The test is how do the fans feel about it.

I can just tell you that Alabama and Ole Miss fans consider it a big game.
Auburn and Ole Miss view their game as a divisional game and nothing all that special.

I feel sorry for Arkansas because I think they desperately want some of these "Big Games" but it's just not reciprocated. They've tried to make LSU a thing and when Gus was Auburn they tried to use that to fuel it but nothing really sticks. I was happy for them when they played Texas because that was an environment they haven't experienced in a while. Ole Miss vs Alabama has some bounce to it for the two programs.

So the SEC has as many pretend rivalries as the B1G has meaningless trophies. Alright we are on the same page now.

That isn't what I said. You don't have to convince me that the LOS is key to winning. Or that TEs are important to today's game.

The issue I pointed out was that they brought in 8 DL in this class. Try keeping all them happy. See what that does to your DL recruiting next year. So much of football recruiting is about filling all your needs, and being balanced. It's really, really hard to do and it doesn't help when you go overboard on a position group in a given class, especially now that we have free agency. Seriously, 11 of their 28 recruits are DL and TE. That's 40% of the class at 2 positions. Also, don't forget that not all coaches rotate like CKS does.

A&M has a pretty good record at putting DL/DE/OLB into the draft. So if we end up losing a couple who can't break into the standard rotation, what have we lost?

We'll take any and all of your cast offs. And almost any other team's cast offs are better than what we are able to recruit.

It will be Max. King didn’t look good his senior year in HS. He looked a bit shaky early this year. Max has a ton of seasoning. He will be coming in with a lot of advantages. To be honest a year to develop is probably best for King

The opportunity to add a couple at other positions. Understand that I am totally nit-picking here. Your class is stout - the best ever. It's just very unbalanced. That may or may not matter.

FWIW, it is really hard to keep super classes like these together. If you look at the highest rated classes, you will see a lot of departures. We lost half of the top 10 in our 2018 class which is our highest ever and was third highest ever until this year.

That's what free agency is going to be about.

True. But if you only go to them with your hat in your hand and nothing else to offer..................

We can't even use the entertainment from Juarez anymore.

We do have much better facilities than what is perceived.

from the pig fans i met in Fayetteville last september.. they were riled up that we were there and excited that we were joining the SEC. They HATE us. They were recognizing almost everyone that played some type of sport there.. Never seen so many horns down before.. on flags, cups, advertising on the board.. everywhere.

And you are right, they kept trying to make them vs LSU a thing and it never caught on. Then they were trying it with Mizzu

I don’t think the Egg Bowl is all that great but the state of Mississippi gets fired up. Good for them.
