Texas getting Cutcliffe

IT mod on a message board said it doesn't look good for Cutty and UT anymore. However Arch is visiting next month and they are saying it's a Bama/UT battle. BK and Napier are trying to get into the picture..with UGA "falling out fast"

Was hopin UT would lure him back as well and take a serious shot. This Manning has some wheels, he'd look good in JH's system imo.

I always thought Peyton Manning to Tennessee was always kind of an outlier. Tennessee really doesn't have any connection to the Manning family other than with Peyton. If we get another Manning, it will have to come from Peyton's lineage.

I am surprised Ole Miss isn't high on Arch's destinations. Especially with the offense ran by Lane Kiffin. Both Archie and Eli played at Ole Miss.

I hope you guys get him. I am so sick of Alabama.

I’ll repeat what I said from the very beginning: Arch isn’t going anywhere with a newly minted starting QB.

word was that the Mannings weren't feeling Kiffin

Manning is a UGA v. UT battle.

UTjr never in it, bought them the no. 4 QB. Grats.

Agree Mannings weren't feeling Kiffen.

Bama is in on Eli Holstein.

Clemson has been out.

Down to UGA and UT. Just had an unofficial at UGA last weekend that went very well per reports. UT visit coming up.

I tend to disagree. I think the Mannings want him to have a great college experience in addition to a great place to develop. From what I have read and heard, he's not one that is coming in insisting on starting as a freshman, and wants out in 3 years.

The family has tons of money, and two HOF NFL QBs. There is no rush to get to the NFL. All 4 of the Manning men and womenz had great times in college - they want the same thing for Arch Jr. Stability at coaching will be the main thing, then an offense that can set him up to go pro.

LOL ... UGA is falling out so fast that he just spent 3 days in Athens with his family. Word is he had a great time at the Sigma Nu party Saturday night, and in downtown Athens.

The article that said that was based on a podcast that supposedly said that. I listened to the podcast and the guy had no idea. Amazing how those things can get legs.

just relaying what the IT mods were saying a few weeks ago.. they are saying the UGA trip went well, but feel really good about UT chances right now

** He's coming on a perfect weekend too, it's the relays.. **

Oh, yeah, I get it. It’s pretty much UT and UGA, although I doubt the gumps are totally out of it. Both teams feel good as expected.

Sounds like UT may have offensive stability, assuming Sark stays, but UGA has overall program stability. At the end of the day, seems to be UT and UGA. I wonder what competition has to do with it. You have the more known QB - Ewers, yet we have more potential maybe with Beck, Vandegriff, and Stockton (all high 4* or 5*) although one of those will certainly transfer either before or after this season. Gonna be an interesting one ... thinking about July is when we will hear.

Most recent from IT from On3, in part:

Of the handful of schools associated with this recruitment, we’ve only been paying attention to Texas, Georgia, and Alabama. There was a brief window where Clemson was involved but we faded their chances well before they were officially out of it. We’re not particularly fond of Alabama’s chances at the moment. Given their pursuit of former Texas A&M commit Eli Holstein, the second best quarterback in Louisiana for 2023, Bama doesn’t seem to feel all that great either.

Bama running third benefits Texas, of course, but more so Georgia
. Those two are competing head to head for the program stability advantage, and from our vantage, Georgia has a commanding lead over Alabama. The reasons for that speak to why Texas has been a constant throughout: life in Athens is viewed as a more holistic football experience than in Tuscaloosa.

But right now, in our view, Georgia is UT’s biggest competition.

As recent national champions, Georgia has a clear advantage when it comes to program stability. But what of offensive stability? How long will Todd Monken realistically remain the offensive coordinator in Athens? Unless Manning plays as a true freshman, unlikely given their quarterbacks waiting in the wings, Monken would have to be there three more years for it to matter: this year, then Arch’s redshirt year, then Arch’s first year playing.

After going 5-7, there are program stability questions for Sarkisian to answer this year. As IT reported throughout the fall, the triumvirate of Kevin Eltife, Jay Hartzell, and Chris Del Conte fully support him. Judging by NIL action, the boosters fully support him as well. That written, 5-7 is still a wedge schools understandably use to their advantage.

IT believes Georgia has improved its standing, but more at the expense of Alabama. Georgia has given the Mannings a lot to think about and if Texas falters this weekend or on the field this fall, that’s the most likely school to benefit.

It must be stressed that while UT is in a good spot, it’s not over. To use modern IT parlance, “they’re not taking him for granted.” Starting later today, this remains a big weekend for Texas, but it’s also a golden opportunity for the staff, the players, the school, and the city, to shine in holistic ways that appeal to Arch and move this recruitment one step closer to closure.

everyone is pretty much on board that Arch will announce before the summer. Only reason why I'm optimistic is because he and his family have 100s or reasons to say "Thanks, but no thanks" to UT yet he still hasn't done that. I think this is his 4th visit to Austin, and should be back again next month.

Those visits plus his timeline to announce, make me feel really good about him choosing UT.

Watch him shock the world (ok make unbelievable bank) and go to A&M

We’ll all be sick… sep @fordman84
