that thing is going to get appealed if it means players are going to be taking cuts.. and until there is an actual CBA where players are now employees.. this thing will be up in courts forever..

The first time that department says that a contract isn't valid because it pays too much for too little return, the business is going to sue the NCAA out of existence. The NCAA knows this, which is again why they are asking for anti-trust exemption. Who is the NCAA to tell a business how valuable a partnership with an athlete is?

Yeah, Toilet and Douche are "supposed to" administer it. I ain't no lawyer but I don't think it is enforceable.

I say just leave it unregulated and let 'em grab whatever someone is willing to fork over. Aren't we supposed to be a supply/demand/market driven system? But, I just used "supposed to" as well so there's that.
 
This whole thing of paying college athletes millions of dollars and never knowing if they're going to stay with a team is a movement, as in bowel.

as opposed to all those players that get drafted and paid millions and always live up to their hype? Movement isn't the issue.

So you're being honest and equating college athletes with pro players. That's exactly the problem in a nutshell with what's happened to college football. It's just a bunch of pros masquerading as students. It's a farce.

17-18 isn't much different, physiologically speaking, than 20-21 year olds.

The only difference between "college athletes" and "pro athletes" is if they have an agent or are getting paid. That's literally it. To turn pro you just need to hire an agent, be 1-3 years out of HS, and say the magic words "I'm declaring for the draft". TA-DA..."pro"

Anyone getting paid is a "pro". It's just a matter of degree. Or in the case of a lot of college athletes, they don't care about a degree. (That's my play on words for the day.) :)

What Is The Definition Of A Professional Athlete
 
schools were making hands over fists of money for a long time.. hiding behind the cost of scholarships was like somehow equivalent as players actually making money.

Now it's an uproar that NIL is here and with few guardrails.. don't blame the game.. blame the NCAA for punting on this for so long.

I don't think that game was a case of an early natty that we mention on here in CFB. Notre Dame, while starting out very rough, ended up making Ohio State sweat a little bit in the second half before being put away. It might have been a case of Ohio State taking their foot off the gas too early but ND never stopped fighting. Also, ND did beat the team Texas lost to twice in the season

Well, you don't need to be a specific age or have a specific level of skill to be paid. So I'll go back to reminding you that anyone can go "pro", so this stuff about college football is now just "pro's masquerading as students" doesn't make any sense. In reality it is that college football = minor league baseball.

As a bonus, the NCAA which is just the schools organizing together put an artificial limit on scholarships. So the amount of revenue these kids could bring in was limitless, but the money they had to "pay" out in forms of housing and food was severely restricted "for the sake of competition".
Nah, miss me with this nonsense.
