Thanksgiving with a side of COVID

My family is generally all over the place for thanksgiving (we do Christmas) so I usually make the treck up north by Napa where some friends always do a "friendsgiving" type deal. Which is still on. We are all younger and in good health so its not really a big worry.
 
We do Thanksgiving at my house and my parents and in-laws come in from Louisiana.

Not sure what's happening this year. My MIL is a little crazy and my dad is not in good health.

I'm still frying 3 turkeys even if it's just us and the kids.
 
my in laws don’t believe in COVID so im probably gonna get it.

Recently, mortality for old folks has dropped to about 5%. Massive improvement since March/April.
 
I won’t quarantine and I’ll hang out with whoever the fuck I want to.

But what if we're at this same point 12 months from now? The possibility is there, is it not? How long are you willing to wait this out?

right now the news is pushing that if you are planning on spending the holiday with people outside your normal circle, you should quarantine for 14 days, which is pretty damn impossible...also means it has to start tomorrow.

how is everyone planning on doing this?

my aunts and uncles and cousins are all doing their own thing, which is outside the norm for us.

We're hosting Thanksgiving at my house. We have about 15 that will be here. My oldest daughter is engaged and with her fiancé in California. But everybody else is at my house. My Mom is 80 and she has Alzheimers and fell recently and has a broken ankle. But we're still going to have Thanksgiving. The Governor of North Carolina has recently called for a limit of 10 gathered for Thanksgiving. Fuck him. We are still having Thanksgiving at my house. We will use paper plates and plastic utensils, have one server, wear a mask, check temps, but we are still having Thanksgiving at my house. If we get sick then we just fucking get sick. But we are having Thanksgiving at my house.
