Thanksgiving with a side of COVID

The fact that you don't treasure every minute you have on this planet tells me you are most likely a hermit with very few REAL friends and family.

I feel sorry for you as I want to spend as much time with everyone in my life as possible before I'm gone
I 100% do treasure every minute I have on this planet.

I also treasure every minute that my mom and aunts and uncles and friends are here, which is why you play this safe and distance yourself.

Life wouldn't be life without those I care about. That's more important to me than "doing stuff"

Then do what you want. Just don't encourage your government to tell me what to do.

Meh. It gets to the point where its the 80 year olds' decision. Everyone knows what is going on at this point. The elderly and at risk should play it safe. But if they decide they want to spend the holidays with their family, knowing the risk, they are grown ass adults. They can make that decision on their own
Word... if some elderly want to play it safe and take every precaution for themselves necessary I will totally respect that.

But plenty are this lady... and I'm not about to argue with her

where am I encouraging the government to do anything?

if you can't take responsibility for yourself, so be it. I am just going to consider you part of the problem.

if my grandparents were still alive, I would do everything I can to ensure I don't pass anything to them. If that means skipping a holiday, so be it.

Oooh, you're a rebel!!
No I just live my life. Wife works front lines with Covid intubating them too. I work meeting new people every day. I’ve traveled a bunch. Got married. Play golf. Go to the park. Eat out all the time. Hang with the neighbors every weekend, two of them work in the hospital too. Don’t carry sanitizer. So yeah, no fucks given and no covid.

so it sounds like you have a nice little circle where you don't have to worry.

do you wear a mask when you meet new people for work?

I do everything you do and I take the necessary precautions to ensure I minimize the chances of getting it and I minimize spreading it.

Of course I do!

Of course I do!
I think we are good here.

no one is saying don't live your life.

do whatever you think you can while making the necessary risk assessment.

I wouldn't go into a movie theater right now with a bunch of strangers.

I eat out, but I either eat outside or not at all in most cases.

Traveled around playing baseball with the kid from the middle of June to August. Kids have been going to school this year. Went to Six Flags with the kids last month. Did the motorcycle races in Atlanta too. I work in outside sales, I have worked every work day from the end of March until now. I go to peoples homes, go in their house, meet people in my office, hang out with my co-workers at work. Fight rush hour traffic coming home. My wife work for an elementary school, it has not closed for any reason & she has not missed a day. My nephew has had COVID & that is all in my immediate family, He survived, he's 17 years old. My bother & sister in law did not test positive. My Mom comes by the house a few time a week to see the kids. My Dad goes to his office everyday. We eat out from time to time. We love Hooters. LOL

Other than the mask in crowded areas & washing my hands a little more often, my life has been fairly normal.

You're in sales and you're life has been normal?

I... Kind of don't believe you. All of the sales guys of our vendors are happy when they get to leave their houses. Hardly any of my sales friends have traveled. Typically they're gone 10 days a month.

I was told that not wearing a mask was killing these people. It’s been months. Why are they still here?
I kinda assumed you were dead tbh.
