Thanksgiving with a side of COVID

You're in sales and you're life has been normal?

I... Kind of don't believe you. All of the sales guys of our vendors are happy when they get to leave their houses. Hardly any of my sales friends have traveled. Typically they're gone 10 days a month.
You don't have to believe me... My companies sales are through the roof this year on both the Lumber & Millwork side. We never slowed down. I worked from my home from mid March to the end of September. But I am in office & ready make more money!!

Now a lot of my suppliers had issue which slowed us down a little, but everybody is up & running.

The Great State of Alabama has been open for business & construction was deemed essential.

It just sucks in general for all of this holiday stuff. Feel like we're being hypocritical in a way. Our youngest (morning thread folks know as Lil W) has had some issues with food allergies & ENT. Found out she has asthma with food allergies and maybe EOE (don't ask me exactly what it is, the wife knows). We had done trick or treating and short time (6ft away) at a small Halloween party. We also have let her & my oldest go to daycare and the 3 older step kids to go to school. The 3 step kids have done 4-H & sports as well as school. Their school had went to alternate schedule for a couple weeks already. Last weekend we had the SIL's wedding. However, I think we are going to do less going out with her. Step kids will still do sports & go to daycare but we may reduce the family gatherings. We had her Bday party in July & my uncle tested positive a week later. So I think the maybe just Thanksgiving with my parents & maybe wife's and that's about it.

so I am trying to figure out my plans for Thanksgiving with my family up in NJ.

right now the news is pushing that if you are planning on spending the holiday with people outside your normal circle, you should quarantine for 14 days, which is pretty damn impossible...also means it has to start tomorrow.

how is everyone planning on doing this?

my aunts and uncles and cousins are all doing their own thing, which is outside the norm for us.

also, this stinks.
It stinks alright! You make what you want to make out of this and much of that depends on what you expose yourself to. Gonna have about 15 over on Thanksgiving here. Sadly, I do have a son that won't be here. He has had Covid too! 29 and like 99.9% of folks under 85 not going through chemotherapy for Stage 3+ cancer had a headache for a day and a half. Still convinced he was just lucky. This lockdown has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with submission. To have a family get together requires "usually" a married man and a woman saying "family is what matters", some will put politics first. #Sad

Ahhh, so only people with stage 3 cancer and/or are over the age of 85 die from CoVID?

I'll tell my co-workers family that, their 33 yr old healthy husband/son/father was stricken by the deadly and murderous COVID. Thanks for mocking his death.

"Put politics first"

Paaaahhhhhlease ... JFC

well Philly tightened their belt on restrictions for the next 2 months, which means I will not be going to Philly for Thanksgiving, which I am pretty ok with.

I actually don't know if we are doing anything at all, to be honest. I might be just staying home and doing my own thing...which will be weird. Might see if a local friend can adopt me for dinner.
