The 1940 - 2010 MLB $150M Salary Cap Draft : CHAT

Anyone got suggestions for some chronic lower back pain. At first thought my bed was too firm, so my wife put on a mattress cushion but that still hasn't seemed to help. I'm not terribly overweight (25.2 BMI) or out of shape, so not sure it's that in particular (although being in better shape would help).

Only thing I do right now is play golf occassionally, but it's not frequent enough where I keep injuring it. Thought I'd pose the question to you old heads on here to see if you had any remedies.

Well my wife has lower back pain all the time after her spine surgery and a rod as well so she has chronic back pain. She did go to a therapist for massages and received shots but after switching jobs we have to wait for her insurance to kick in to continue this. I'm not sure how serious so if you want to go to those measures and have good insurance, all nice options. I give her a massage every night bc she has spasms in her back all the time. I can ask her and she would know she about everything, she is also a nurse.

Thanks, at this time thankfully it's been more annoying that truly debilitating. So I'm not really looking to go that far into fixing the issue. I have gone to a chiropractor before and am considering going back soon.

There's only really been one day where I couldn't function as a result of the pain. It eventually calmed down after a few hours and some help with some tylenol. But that day I bent down to our laundry machine to get some clothes for the kids in the morning and I just couldn't get back up. I had to make my way to the staircase and grab the railing to help myself back up.

I bought a theragun which does help. But for the past 3 weeks I've been in a rinse repeat cycle. Wake up in the morning with decent amount of pain/discomfort, take some tylenol, use the theragun. Function throughout the day with minor nagging pain. Wake up, same thing.

Yeah and there aren't too many ways of totally taking the pain away but just mitigating the pain. Those shots she would get I think once or twice a month seemed to be the best way to help her though, if it gets worse I would try that. Have you been to the doctor to diagnose you and make sure there isn't something seriously wrong with your back?

Nah, I haven't gone to a doctor yet. I'm just not a guy who has typically gone in much in my life. But I will consider it if it starts to worsen or stays the same for a longer period of time. But it's getting to the point where it might be something I have to do.

I’m the same way and I can deal with pain. I’ve had something wrong with my elbow that needs surgery and shoulder problems but I continue to workout and deal with it but a back issue is another story. If it gets vad, definitely see a doctor

I've had back pain forever dating back to my MMA days, best thing I've found for it is yoga. Wish I had started years sooner, it really helps

Did we lose Milk already?

Was gonna say that my father in law has had back pain for the last 40+ years and he starts each morning stretching (as he calls it), but it's basically yoga.

This is something I'm going to try out. My wife and kids will be so excited if they see me trying to do it, lol.

How do I tell from baseball reference the number of actual games played? For Marichal, it lists 10x as his profile, but when you look at the stars indicating all star appearance it only had 9.

From 1959 - 1962 MLB played two all star games per year. If you count 9 that's correct it says 10 because he played in both in 1962.
