The 1970+ 5 Bucket NHL Draft QF1 : Stakes vs Hockey

Honestly not really. Because most teams have 4 lines.

And any good team is gonna roll their top 2 lines equally its all match ups. Patrick Kane can has played loads of 2nd line hockey for the Hawks. Hes pretty much always been their best player..

but for our mocks dont we have to assume that the three lines would be together at all times, not just even strength(except when one is in the penalty box), and since there we drafted three lines and not 4, isn't it a valid assumption that the first line plays more than the rest of the lines...

we could have went deeper and made lines when you are up a man, or penalty killing...

I think the assumption would be the top 2 play way more than the 3rd. Again thats why many teams separate their guys for a lot of times(Kane/Toews, Crosby/Malkin/ McDavid/Draistl)

I think assuming strictly off a top line playing a lot should be more of negative. That tells me it all rides on the 1 line, if they gas out youre done. A good team can throw a great second line thats fresh out there.

1 of the reasons home ice in hockey is so huge isnt just crowd(duh), but you get the second line change. Match ups.
