The 2 Player Per Decade MLB Draft : CHAT

If anyone is a hip hop fan, I just started watching this netflix series called hip hop evolution. It's kind of fascinating to see how these major rappers started and how things came together. Inspired me to go back and relisten to certain albums for a better appreciation.

I will check it out

I used to be hardcore about listening to a whole albulm but i cant recall last time i did.

I didn't listen to Illmatic when it first came out, but in high school I really delved into hip hop and it's one of my favorite albums. But I never really knew much about Nas. In the series it shows how he was discovered, and what went into making his first album and how anticipated it was. They said usually when you have an album back then you had one producer who could do most of it for you. Instead he worked with all the top producers and basically had the best of the best working on it. It's no doubt a contributing factor to the greatness of that album.

I had no idea.

I did text UK

Just want to brag on here that I shot my all time low of 80 on the golf course two weeks ago. Then 1 week ago I shot 96.

Golf is hard man...

Maybe prior to that but i can't think of too many cds that had just one unless it was like gangstarr and the producer was part of the group.

Dre obviously did most of his own. I couldn't tell you anymore. Kids these days are mostly terrible.

Illmatic was a classic but i always was partial to It was written. I thought it got a bad rap. Stillmatic was also fantastic

Stillmatic was also dope. But even as many amazing tracks as it had, I still find myself always adding Life's a bitch and NY State of Mind to almost any rap playlist I make. Put me on to AZ, who is so underrated.

What's your top 5 albums of all time?

Hmm

Id probably go

Chronic 2001
Aquemeni
Me Against the World
Reasonable Doubt
And a three way tie on the Nas albums we discussed lol

In no real order

Nice.

For me, in no order I'd go:

All Eyez on Me
The Score
Life after Death
Marshall Mathers LP
The Chronic

Those albums have songs that I still listen to all the time. All Eyez on me, song for song though since it was a double album is my favorite of all time though. But I'm from the bay so I'm biased.
