The Bears are a shit show

At the very least, he will NEVER sniff a super bowl appearance. Cares about money and playing dress up.

TBF they ALL care about money. But when he climbed into the stands and cried on his Mommy's lap that was over the top

We shall see
I mean, it's honestly just weird. Aside form playing on a shitty team, with fucking horrendous coaching, he had a very respectable season?:noidea:

62.5%, 3,541 yds, 6.3 avg, 20 TDs, 6 INTs

I mean, let's look at what everyone is creaming their fucking pants over, for an objective comparison...

69%, 3568 yds, 7.4 avg, 25 TDs, 9 INTs (Jayden Daniels)

The narratives are skrong with these two.

Agree the Bears are a horribly run organization. But Caleb Williams is soft and will be soft no matter who he plays for.

Out of the league in 3 years

"Momma, we lost."

"I know, baby. It's only because everyone else is better than you."

You ripped apart the guy who went 61.5%, 2,562 yards, 6.9 avg, 16 TD and 9 INT (with 657 yards and 4 TD on the ground) in 2023 despite playing with equally horrendous coaching and far less talent around him...

So a 1,000 less yards? Bro, let it go. If and when Fields becomes a stable starting QB, then we can circle back to this insanely over discussed topic.

And over a half a yard more per throw. Weird.

The problem is you have a team that struggles to develop QBs drafting a QB from a school that consistently sends overhyped QBs to the NFL to fail. Its like sending a plane made by Boeing into the Bermuda Triangle with a female pilot.

I don't disagree.

And last year was just that same old shit. I'm hoping Johnson changes the culture for good.

I watched every game last year. Williams is talented as Hell. If they can surround and support, I think he can be whatever he wants in this league.

Steep road ahead. He has to beat both the USC QB jinx and the Bears QB jinx.

I'm still waiting for Trubisky to hit his stride as I was told by a Bears fan. Any day now he is going to live up to that hype.

Sorry, but it won't. The culture is the problem with that team, and a fish rots from the head. You see similar horrible ownership that curses the team for the Raiders, Jets, Browns, and previously, Redskin/Commanders.

The idea that "we're only 1-2 players away" or "if we can just surround him with better receivers or linemen..." sound like a diseased gambler, chasing losses.

Will Harrison break out? Can McConkey be a No. 1? Key questions on 13 second-year NFL WRs

Where was Rome Odunze last season?

Well, the Bears' No. 9 overall pick was often being thrown an uncatchable ball. According to ESPN's charting, Odunze saw 37 targets that were overthrown or underthrown, which led all receivers by a lot. Courtland Sutton was second with 29. Now, inaccurate balls can be as much a receiver's fault as they are the quarterback's, but it's no great secret that rookie QB Caleb Williams was missing all of his receivers last season. DJ Moore was third in the league with 27 inaccurate targets, and Keenan Allen was 10th with 24.

Also, from OP about Caleb:

He was sacked a league-leading 68 times.

Considering the above facts, there's a strong possibility Caleb will be no better than Fields. Wildly inaccurate throws + struggling to read the field + holding onto the ball too long = a common recipe for failure.
