The Blind AL & NL MLB Draft : CHAT

One bad playcall away from two SB's. They had a damn good run

I've always argued that it was more the personnel being asked to run that call than the call itself that doomed that play. The real legacy of that call is that big personalities started to hold grudges and point fingers. Not that it's surprising that happened, but big egos....

But yeah, my two favorite Seahawks over the last decade are no longer with the team.... It's gonna be a different year.

It’ll be interesting to see the direction our teams go in from here Stoke. They’ll definitely be compared from a Packers fan perspective for me

Bold move, no.

But….it was a small move that paid huge.

So if Rodgers retires with only one SB win...overall success for GB or not? I mean to compare Brees only had one SB win too. Peyton only one with the Colts. Favre one in GB as well.

If I say no I think Nos will rip my head off lol. I’ll say if they don’t win another one they should’ve traded him for that haul to Denver. But I personally can’t call the entire tenure not a success no. Being a super bowl contender every year there are still a million memories from the Rodgers era I’ll remember forever and you can’t just disregard the championship he’s not Marino. And Brady distorts how hard it is to win multiple championships. It’s funny to me how similar both my baseball and football teams have been the past decade. So much playoff heartbreak but that comes with the territory of fandom.

Yep, trust me I am in the same boat with the Cavs. Having Lebron for all those years (most years he just didn't have the best supporting cast) but competing at a high level for so long...you can never call that a disappointment from our perspective. Fun times and we got to witness a championship.

The earlier years following the championship year the playoff losses were nothing he could do about. The defense was always disaster and I think they win the bowl in 2014 if not for the Seattle debacle, which will never be surpassed for the worst loss of my life. 2016 and 2018 NFC Championship games they were comptlety outmatched and I knew it going in. However, the last two years are on Rodgers. The defense picked off Brady three times and he didn’t do enough and then only scoring only 10 this year was brutal. I feel like if they didn’t win it the last two years it’s not going to happen, but the NFC being awful gives some hope.

Ever watch your team do a very bold move that vaults them into a Super Bowl contender?

oh sorry you said Superbowl.

It's rather interesting seeing Seahawks fans claiming that Russell really isn't that good and the team is better without him and it'll be easy to find someone just as good in a year or two and we'll be right back there.

Yeah I don't get it. He was running for his life and he still had good numbers this season even with the injury. Other than this season he has been very durable and I feel he has a lot left to give.

I agree. But the kneejerk fandom sees him as declining.

I don't hate the idea of the trade - I just thought they left some value on the table.

Yeah the players in the deal are nothing special. I know Chubb has been somewhat disappointing but I thought they could get him or another player in the deal.

Yeah, I hoped for more than some role players. We'll have to see what happens I guess

This is how people deal with such change. They downplay to accept it.

I’ll say this….I didn’t want the Eagles to pay the price for him now (and appreciate him using his no trade to not come to Philly). But if he was already in my team it would not be a simple loss to recover from. That’s irrational.

I think I figured out what I disliked about the trade. Seattle sent their 4th rounder to Denver. WTH is with that??? ;)

Fans that do have a Super Bowl victory just can't understand what it's like to be a fan of a team for 45 years that has had moderate success just to watch them shit themselves every year. The Vikings have more playoff losses than any team in the NFL. I cried when we lost to Atlanta in the 98 NFC Championship game and to be honest I haven't felt the same about the team since.
