Michigan gets the most favorable matchup in the Semi-final, facing TCU and we get to watch Georgia hammer Ohio State. It couldn't set up any better.

Most know my thoughts -- I think Georgia rolls all three of the teams in the CFP. Michigan is the one team who plays most like Georgia, but as I've described Georgia on here -- they are Michigan, but on steroids.

I'm glad Michigan will get a game against a team they should be favored against, even without our best player on offense and defense. But I think I will enjoy the Georgia Ohio State game just as much, as I think Georgia beats OSU worse than Michigan did.

I'm not so sure Michigan makes it past TCU. Thats a good team and they are pissed at how their CCG went.

Motivation is a factor and losing that game and still making the playoff (rightfully so IMO) brings it. A lot of it.

You should jump on that game -- for whatever reason, they have Michigan as a 9.5 point favorite. I'm not that confident. But IMO, it was the best matchup possible for UM. Georgia is about the worst matchup for UM. OSU has that 'motivating factor' you speak of, as we've beat them the last two years convincingly, and it is never easy to face a team a 2nd time in a year.

So TCU was just the best option for a CFP matchup for UM. Will UM win? I don't know? I do know we played the last two games without the B1G Defensive Lineman of the year in Mike Morris and the B1G running back of the year in Blake Corum -- beating OSU on the road by 23 and winning the CCG by 20 or whatever it was. So UM is finding ways.

All teams are motivated for a chance to win a Natty.
Please stop this tired, lunatic line of thought.

Not saying they would win, or that I want them to, but I think it's going to be a good game. Probably the best we see in the playoff this year.

Yes, tOSU has that motivation as well, but they better worry about the game coming up and put you guys out of their mind.

I was saying -- if you feel like that -- jump on the 9.5 points for TCU. I'm with you -- I think it will be a good game. I really don't know how good the Big 12 is this year? I know TCU's defense has improved as the year went on and their QB is a gamer!! I was cheering for him in the Big 12 CCG.

I was explaining why TCU was the best option for UM -- The last thing on OSU's mind is UM with a game coming up against Georgia. I'm as excited to watch that game, as I am to watch Michigan. OSU is going to have to come up with a crazy game plan -- as Georgia is built just like Michigan, but they have way more high end talent and they have it all over the field.

Let this sink in. 50% of the CFP teams are not conference champions!
I don't really have an issue with that. You want the 4 teams who have played the best all year, not the team who pulled off an upset in the CCG.

The 12 team will put an end to that, but in the current setup, it doesn't surprise me.

The opening lines are ridiculous.

I'll take TCU +9.5 and Georgia -6.5.

Insane.

Yeah -- I agree. I was shocked when I saw the Michigan spread. Then again -- I know how ridiculous UM fans can be and they will still bet on Michigan. I think it is way too high.

I also think Georgia is too low. If Jaxon Ngjiba-Smith is healthy enough to play in the game -- I could see -6.5, as it'd give OSU arguably the two best WR's in college and make it difficult for Georgia to try and take both away.

Have to remember that the lines are put out based on how the books think the bets will equal out over time, not what they feel the games will play out. I think they know Michigan is going to have way more fans putting money on Michigan -- so they set it high to try and attract the others to bet on TCU.

Hasn't happened until now.

Well, being a public school teacher, bowl season is always like one big Christmas gift to me. I get to see almost every single game due to being out of school from December 20 something until January 4th. My in laws live near Charleston, SC. We will be visiting them over the break. I am thinking about the 4 hour drive to Jacksonville for the Gator Bowl. I have been to about 40 games in my life, but never a bowl game.

I am just a lowly teacher of 26 years in the profession. Who will I teach? All kids are out too. I don't meet the pay grade to have a key to the building anyway. Guess I will have to enjoy all that college football waiting on me.
