Found the audiobook version of Lord Foul’s Bane the other day so thought I would revisit “The Land” again 40 years after I read it the first time. So far, so good.
I remember this series being told a lot from Covenant’s perspective and thoughts - i.e. much less dialogue and more descriptive text. I also remember it bored me way back in the early teen years but I did manage to push through. I wanted to read it again though because everyone still raves about it and I hope it turns out that I was just too young to appreciate it the first time.
I decided now is a good time since the radio on my jeep is broken and I need something to listen to while driving and exercising. I have forgotten almost all of it, so this will be more like a first time read but with a more mature palate and appreciation of writing - hoping the consensus is good and I will enjoy it.
