GAME The Game: Michigan @ #2 The Ohio State | Noon EST on Fox

If we had McCord playing today, with as much as we saw Howard running, you guys would have killed us. He would have taken at minimum 9 sacks.
We didn't have a single sack and it had little to do with Howard's legs -- Howard only ran the ball 4 times all game and 3 were on design. Michigan wasn't worried about bringing pressure on Howard -- they took the run the away.

Howard is good if you are throwing to open guys against lesser teams. He is good if you can throw quick hitting passes that the RB and WR turn into big plays. Michigan made him have to make the throws he isn't comfortable making.

Other reason Michigan won yesterday is -- we could rush with 4 guys on the defensive line, we used a LB as a spy and if he saw it was a pass -- he came to bring pressure. If it was a run -- he rallied to the ball. Our safeties played up taking away underneath routes because there was little threat of Howard throwing deep, especially on drives when you were going into the wind. Howard doesn't have the arm to make those throws.

But you are right -- the guy who has thrown for like 4,500 yards and led Syracuse to a 9-3 record definitely wouldn't have been able to throw on Michigan's secondary filled with backups. 😂

McCord would have thrown for 400+ yards on our secondary yesterday. We also wouldn't have been able to use the defensive game plan we used against McCord.

But Ty to Ohio for bringing Howard in. He gave an inferior Michigan team another win!!!

Do you remember when they fired tressel and Fickell was the interim? They they hire Meyer and make Fickell co-defensive coordinator?

Fickell himself has admitted he wasn't ready for a HC at the time. Do you know how many interim coaches are kept on staff when the new coach takes over?

Well, that sucked ass.

Fuck Ryan Day.

Congrats, Voltaire.

Let’s have it.

Won my bet at Motor City Casino!!! I expected an as whoopin'. Day needs to stop trying to be a bad-ass, and just be the coach he is. Looking for a return of Urban Meyer.

Not talking about HC. It was the way the DC was handled with regards to him

They interviewed McCord after he got done throwing for almost 400 yards and beating Miami. They asked him if he had seen that Michigan beat Ohio and they only scored 10 points.
He smirked and said everything comes full circle

Meh...I am sure he is taking some personal pleasure in that but he is better off at Syracuse and Ohio St is better off without him. Do I think he received unfair criticism? Yes.

If Meyer returns that would be too precious for words. That would be a major ego feed for him, and Ohio St would look pretty hypocritical bringing him back after the way he departed. The pair would deserve all bad things that would happen. And they would happen.

Meyer is not coming back though. Ryan Day is not the right coach for tosu if your metric for success is beating Michigan. If your metric is overall record, having a nationally ranked team annually and being in the conversation for a national championship then he is the right coach.

With NIL, the transfer portal, and coaching salaries the days of having a streak of beating Michigan for 10 straight years are over. OSU fans need to accept that.

Is this my avi?

You can change it throughout the month as you see fit.

Ryan Day has not been fired yet this angers me
Do you think with an almost guarantee to the playoff they are hedging and letting that play out? FWIW he has a $37 million buyout

He should have to at least get to the final to maybe save his job IMO.

Guy has proven over and over he can’t win big games, making a 12 team playoff alone means nothing.

Also, there might be fear of losing this recruiting class before signing day if they let him go.

I kinda enjoy listening to Gus even with his schtick (it's cheesy but I find it entertaining anyway), but he was pretty awful yesterday. There was a moment where he said it would be close when a player was tackled like 4 yards short of the first down marker, and said Paige "nearly intercepted" when he did get the interception. The Sawyer interception was hilarious, sounds like he jizzed himself.

Regardless, I always enjoy listening to Joel Klatt. He seemed rather baffled by OSU's playcalling all game, waiting for OSU to open up the passing game in the 2nd half and they never did.

Yeah, they aren't going to fire a coach as his team is preparing for the CFP.

It'd be different if they were missing out on the CFP. They still have something at stake, even if they have an uphill battle.

Wish we woulda lost to Penn State. Then he’d be out for sure. Making the 12 team playoff means nothing IMO you could stumble in with 2 losses every year and lose in the first round constantly in this system

Would you rather go back to the previous format?
