I just posted this deep in another thread, but it deserves its own thread:

We are not going to recognize college athletics in 5 years.

So basically if you're not already in the Big 10 or SEC in the next 5 years you're screwed.

The Big 12 and ACC won't be able to economically compete with direct payments to players from the schools.

Notre Dame depends on it's next media rights contract.

Even Oregon and Washington will only be getting partial share ($30 million) from the Big 10 until 2029/2030. So there will be a couple years where they lag as well.

Oregon has zero problem making up the 30M dollar gap. Getting into the Big Ten was more about exposure, recruiting and setting up the university long term.

This is why I told people the ACC was going to lose members sooner rather than later. It might not be this year but it's coming.

Argue with your mamas

Getting into the B1G, for Oregon, was about getting rescued from the ash heap of the PAC12, and future irrelevance in the college football world.

These are the same answer.

So, the P2 go their own way and set up a revenue sharing compensation system paying athletes directly so that NIL is not necessary.

And athletes and boosters don’t feel that direct pay amount is adequate so we go back to (or still continue) additional payments from boosters to athletes that are “ off the books.”

Hope so....down with conferences
