Were they the ones egging on Pasquale Perez? My dad and my grandpa were at that game.
They were in the cheap seats. I could see a younger version of my dad running on the field and joining the brawl. My grandpa has always been a no nonsense guy though, so I doubt my dad even yelled anything with my grandpa there with him. Were they the ones egging on Pasquale Perez?
Back then the cheap seats were $3.They were in the cheap seats. I could see a younger version of my dad running on the field and joining the brawl. My grandpa has always been a no nonsense guy though, so I doubt my dad even yelled anything with my grandpa there with him.
I liked Bob Horner's role in that one.Back then the cheap seats were $3.
Tony Gwynn was the nicest guy in the world and he was out there literally bodyslam'ing people.
There's an unedited version of the brawl on Youtube but it's so long the thing is broken into multiple videos. Order was restored I think three times and then someone would throw or another beer from the stands or another player would get worked up and charge out of the dugout and it'd all be right back on again.I liked Bob Horner's role in that one.
It got to be so absolutely absurd. On one hand....Perez was a punk for plunking him. So what if he bunts a lot. Stop him or deal.
On the other hand....while the Pads has every right to plunk him back....after they had missed him for the 78th time it was just time to stop it.
Hell of a fight though....
Went back and watched the rest of this video. I forgot just how crazy that was.It got to be so absolutely absurd.![]()
I can't believe the umps didn't have the cops come down and clear the field. Seriously, we laugh but that was a terrible scene. No kids should watch shit like that and at some point people really need to get arrested, especially fans.Went back and watched the rest of this video. I forgot just how crazy that was.
In 1984 you didn’t have the massive media coverage after the fact like you saw with the Malice in the Palace twenty years later.
I’ve probably never seen but small clips of this craziness before.
But, also....those Padres uniforms.....they should have never disappeared.
