Excellent, especially for historical content. Revolves around a contemporary of Alfred The Great and their dealings with each other. Not sure if the main protagonist was real, but I understand the historic accuracy is very good.

Deals with Saxons and Danes (vikings) much better historically than Vikings! Does and every bit as entertaining.

great show. I love it

Just heard this brought up in another thread last week. Amazing show!! I’m catching up.

The moment I saw Rutger Hauer as an old face tattooed Dane I was locked in!!

Been watching this show since season 1. Need to finish this last one, just got side tracked and the story so far has started to get a little old. I have no idea how historically accurate it is, but doesn't seem like it is entirely made up.

"I am Uhtred, son of Uhtred..."

I’ve watched the whole thing. Got sidetracked once or twice. The story and plot wanders a little at points, but in fairness to them, they bring it back after a bit and it’s very interesting again.

Last season feels rushed. Not GoT bad….but for a plot that meanders at points they really crammed a lot into the last season. And that’s fine…I don’t think they could have kept it going much longer and kept me on board.

That said….there is apparently a movie coming and I will watch it. It’s a great historical drama. Has plenty of violence, and yes, sex too (just not at GoT levels on that).

A good watch.

I read up some. A lot is pretty damn accurate. Except for Uhtred. There was an Uhtred, but about 150-200 years later. And, from what I read, he didn’t do much like this Uhtred did.

But….Alfred, his wife and his kids (as well as Edwards bastard and legitimate sons) were real and well sourced.
