The NFC East Thread

Carson Wentz will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a broken finger. It looks like Taylor Heinike will be the starter.
so the redskins now have a chance at not folding in the 4th qtr.
They must be happy.

It looks like Dak Prescott will start on Sunday against the Lions.

He gave very short fields.

26 points and a whopping 268 yards, that was some great offense you all displayed out there.

Quite possibly 1 less Rush int, both teams are 5-1.
Don't blame it all on Rush. Blame some, if not a lot of it, on bad coaching.
1. The Cowboys probably had a 1st down but he never threw the challenge flag.
2. He made the call to go for it on 4th down inside the Cowboys own 40, which failed.

How the hell can you blame the Eagles offense for having short fields? They got what they needed to get.
In the 4th quarter, the Eagles ran the ball down Dallas' throat. They did what they had to do, when they had to do it.
If 268 yards was enough offense for the Eagles to win by 9 points against the "most amazing defense that the world has EVER seen", then that's good enough for me.

I have good news for the Cowboys fans. It looks like their "savior", Dak Prescott will return on Sunday.

Rush did give short fields and even a good defense with a pulse will struggle here. That is true.

That said….here’s a thing….we got up 20-0 based on Rush giving up short fields. Frankly, it could have been 28-0 if not for your defense. But, all that is moot to the end result for me. Here’s where it matters.

We went soft in the third and you guys came back to make it 20-17. Now it’s a ball game. So what happens next? We go:

13 plays
75 yards
7:37 of the 4th quarter eaten up.
Two score lead with 7 minutes to go.

That’s what matters.
That wasn’t on Cooper Rush.
That was done against a VERY good defense with a pulse.

Since several of us asked the question and we never got an answer, I guess that the ONLY team "with a pulse" is the Dallas Cowboys with Dak Prescott. Apparently, when the Eagles beat that team, then they MIGHT get some respect/fear from Cowboys fans - and what is amazing, is that this Cowboys team has NEVER won anything.

In any event, a third of the way through the regular season, the Eagles are 6-0 and the Cowboys are 4-2. With the tiebreaker, the Eagles have a THREE game lead with 11 games to play.
For now, the Eagles have more to "fear" from the Giants than they do the Cowboys.

Tomorrow, unless the Lions can somehow find a defense - they probably have a good enough offense - and the Jaguars can somehow play like they played against the Eagles, both the Cowboys and the Giants should win tomorrow.

It’s a bitter rival. You will never get the recognition or respect from them.

Stop holding your breath.

Coaching didn't help, but with just a little better productivity from the QB this could be a different story.
I happy with how Rush played during Daks injury but we cannot deny he was a problem vs. the Eagles.

I'm not trying to take credit from the Eagles, as they made Rush make his mistakes.

Fans needed props and recognition from opposing fans.

There's some insecurities right there.

They could have started Dak but deliberately didn't. It was more about fan management than anything else. Rush was 4-0 going into the Eagles game and no matter who started, there was a better than fair chance the Eagles would win. If you played Dak and he lost, the noise would have been huge to make Rush the starter. You play Rush and he loses, then his shine wears off a bit. The Cowboys play Detroit next and no matter who starts, they'll likely win so this is the perfect time to ease Dak back in. He comes back, wins, and all is back to normal. The only risk to the plan was if Rush beat the Eagles. He didn't so that takes care of that.

This is probably BS but Jerry Jones said that he doesn't anticipate the Cowboys making any trades before the deadline.

I do believe Dak could have played, but I think it was more about not risking injury against a very aggressive Philly D.

His royal highness JJ, likes Dak. He went out of his way to credit everybody else for the 4 wins but few accolades for Rush. The party line will be exactly what you said and I guess rightfully so but still, playing the Lions after the Eagles and all but ensuring a win for Dak sure does cool the noise a fair bit.

Plus John is a moron, so there is that.

WTF are you talking about? In this same fucking thread Eagle fans were talking about comment from Jerry to mean that Rush could keep Dak on the bench if he keeps playing well. But now Eagle fans are claiming Jerry never gave any credit to Rush. :L

To be fair, I never heard JJ being complementary to Rush. That doesn't mean he wasn't. I live in Canuckistan, so news of that type, I may not see. I did hear him heaping praise on the coaching staff. If he was complementary, then I retract the statement.
