The Official Conference Tournaments Thread

Clemson about to pick up a Q1 win at an important time
Dominating win, helping their resume when a lot of other bubble teams have faltered.

Could be easily in if not for a couple of terrible loses to Loyola Chicago and Louisville

3-0 vs the pups by double digits
Time for NCST to sweat a little bit on Sunday :martini:

We want Carolina in the NIT...

Do either Carolina or Nova even accept bids?? haha
UNC did when Doherty was there. On the rare occasion where UNC missed the NCAAT under Roy they were typically so bad they weren't eligible for the NIT.

TCU over Kstate was a optimal result

I think TCU was gonna be on the 5 line regardless but this guarantees they are off the 6 line. I do not want to face them in a potential round 2.

Kstate loss should forsure keep them behind MU on the S curve. Both will be 3s so it dont matter much. But potentially for location and just in case of funny business, good to(i believe) lock them in as behind us.

I think Kentucky might have declined one year too and Duke too, but it's rare.

they should definitely sweat. 8 Q1/Q2 but only one of those are Q1. We're going to find out real quickly how the committee views Q2 wins with the way they judge this Pack team.

NCSU and Pitt should think long and hard before they give Keatts and Capel their contract extensions. i think both got fairly lucky in the transfer portal this year and had a few things break their way. i still think they are both shitty coaches. i could be wrong on Keatts, but i'm 100% certain on Capel.

Oh yea, pretty sure.

It's pretty rare to decline. Novas been there a bunch.

Only reasons I was curious is because of their veteran rotations not sure theyd care much. Especially UNC.

Preseason #1, fresh off a natty appearance? I feel like if they go they will just play the bench a lot........or should.

gotta wonder how much time that fluke NCAAT run last year bought Hubert. UNC hasn't had a true UNC-esque season since 2019.

If Marquette can win BET I think they might pass Baylor for last 2, who has been shit lately. But they need to win,

Yeah im leaning towards we would pass them especially with the head to head win and way gaudier record to out weight some metrics.

But we aint winning it haha

To me the difference between top 3 seed and the worst 2 is pretty negligible. So Im just happy to lock in a 3 and hoping to preferably 9 or 10 overall.

Yeah that'll be real interesting.

Obviously they should have made the tourney this year. BUt them being #1 overall was very recency bias. They were still a 8 seed that was a massive bubble team early Feb of last year. And they did lose a really good player even.

yeah, we have been on the same page about UNC since the pre-season. they were clearly over-rated and Hubert relied too much on Love/Bacot/Davis. tbh, Caleb Love straight up sucks.

its pretty weird that Justin McKoy transferred from UVa to UNC just to ride the bench. I saw that Bennett embraced him in the handshake line at the end of the game and made me remember that McKoy was a former UVa player.

Yeah, if good TCU shows up they can be a real pain in the ass! I thought the Lampkin drama would distract them and they'd lay an egg last night. Shows how much I know.

Yeah they are a bit hit or miss. But they are a tough match up for us because they are kinda like St Johns but just a way more sound basketball team. Cant shoot. But want to get out and run like crazy. Athletes everywhere. Pounding the rim.

Quality team.
