The official Michigan Owns Ohio State thread

No, I'm trying to say that all 3 programs found themselves in similarly bad situations that coaches had to fix. Michigan had the advantage over the others because of the history and name in recruiting. But all 3 prove the example that it takes time to build a different culture and re-build rosters. And success then builds success.
Then why could MSU and Clemson do it so much quicker than Harbaugh with far fewer resources?

Stop moving the goalposts. For starters, the CFP wasn't around when MSU won it's first conference title under Dantonio. Secondly, a LOT of people believe PSU should've been in the CFP in 2016 (Franklin's third year) but OSU got the nod instead. These are both coaches who had real success far before Harbaugh, and with fewer resources to do it.

By the way, your complaining about a call that was correct negates any kind of point you think you're making. Facts are facts, Harbaugh needed training wheels far longer than respectable coaches do.
You asked why they were able to do it differently and it's because the situations were all different. You know who Michigan State avoided in 2010? Yeah, it was Ohio State. Pretty easy to scoot through the old conference rules by avoiding Ohio State.

I'm complaining about a call because in this moment that very call is literally all that separates Franklin and Harbaugh in those first 5 years.

So you scrape by 3-9 Sparty and 6-7 Indiana, you scrape by Wisconsin at home, you shit the bed against Iowa and Ohio State, who was trying to give you the game the entire time, and you think you have a valid point calling out a coach who could actually go out and get it done?

Oof, michigan fans down real, real bad these days.

I think you missed....beat Penn State and James Franklin that very year.

But Franklin could beat OSU. And Iowa. Two things your team simply wasn't good enough to do. It's why he won the conference while michigan couldn't for 7 years. Too bad!

Michigan could beat Ohio State too!

Penn State couldn't beat MIchigan, the best team in the B10.

I'm starting to realize MnB is so upset because he knows he's seen michigan's peak under Harbaugh. It literally can't get better than this for them, while Ryan Day will almost certainly win a NC before Harbaugh even coaches in one.

I hope to continue on this peak for a while.

But with the new playoff system, its' all going to be nonsense in the future anyway. Under the new system, Michigan and Ohio State fans would be discussing at least 4 games that have happened in the last two seasons between the two teams, and potentially another in the playoffs.

Michigan wasnt even good enough to make the Big 10 title game but they were the best team in the conference. Ok :pound:
Georgia didn't win their conference but won a national title?

Nice set up for a excuse for Michigan once their inevitable crashing back to earth happens.

Georgia got into their conference title game (against the #3 team) and was still good enough to get into the playoff. Quite a bit of a difference there.

Georgia didnt lose 2 conference regular season games. One of them being to a meh 5 loss team like the Iowa team Michigan lost to

No, I'm just saying it's going to be stupid. I suspect we'll see some splits in the future.

I'm just wondering how Ohio State fans are going to react when day loses again this season?

Would be more interesting to see how quick Michigan fans turn on Harbaugh if he loses this season.

Considering how weak their schedule is, anything less than another playoff appearance for Michigan should be considered a gigantic disappointment. Especially considering all they return.

Michigan fans think the Big 10 has had a grudge against them for decades, it's pretty comical.
The first time I heard this. I remember a lot of bad luck, but it has nothing to do the the B1G or the refs. You lose and you lick your wounds and get ready for the next game ... there is always a next game.

I was at the game when Rocket Ismail ran two kickoffs for touchdowns against Michigan. After the first one, I said that I would kick to him again ... Rocket Ismail is one of the many reasons I was never the head coach at Michigan.

Our OOC is embarrassing, but we are still in the B1G East.
