TV Series The Old Man

I just hope it wraps and is done. That they don't try to bring it back for a season 2. As good as it is, it would be trend setting to have a cable show that just did one season and was done. Could always come back with some spinoff back stories later.
I take this back. After the finale sucked so many balls for not wrapping anything or really advancing the story in any suspenseful way.

You watched them all then. There's a 2nd season coming though. It's well acted and well made, but the story gets predictable by the third episode.
The formula got predictable. There is a lot of meat on the bones here, but kept waiting for some suspense or action or anything. Nothing.

I’ve watched the first two episodes. It’s good production value and acting, for sure.
But it definitely isn’t covering any new ground in the whole spy/cia/mystery thing.
Same. I tried a couple of episodes but just couldn't get into it

I don't think you understood the last episode.

Pretty sure I got it, but there wasn't any suspense. There wasn't any ass kicking.

It surprised me.

Next season, on to a different story line possibly.

It surprised you? They were hinting at it at just about every turn. The only thing that me scratch my head was based my own ignorance as to when the Soviet/Afghan war ended. I thought it ended in the early 80s, so what they were building to didn’t make sense to me, timeline-wise.

He cared so much for the girl I never got the idea that the warlord was the father.
At the end the agent and the ex agent both left knowing she had chosen to be with her real father, thus not having any fear for her safety. They seemed to be very worried for her safety before, so it caught me by surprise.

Chase was concerned because he knew the truth. He knew that Hamzad would do anything in his power to get her back.

Harper had no idea of the truth. He feared for her safety because despite everything, he still loved her as a daughter.

At the end, as they both realized what she had done, they both knew that SHE was safe (from Hamzad), but they needed to “rescue“ her regardless (Hamzad was still a dangerous man and they didn’t want her falling in line with him).

Yes, I realize that. But I was wrong while watching thinking it ended much earlier, so timelines didn’t fit for what I thought/knew was going on.

Someone hasn’t watched Rocky 3 enough. Dunce.

I think they just have our two would be hero's in a different location. Maybe this first season was to set the tone for him being a bad ass and now having a reason to be a bad ass so next season he will actually be a bad ass.

I didn't take it as she chose, may need to rewatch it.
