The PAC-10 is winning

ESPN just denied the B1G their television deal, meaning ESPN has a ton of open time slots to fill. The PAC-10 is going to benefit like crazy with this opening. I'd take ESPN in my back pocket any day over FOX. When it comes to promoting a product, brand, etc. ESPN smashes FOX out of the water. Although in recent years I am sure many don't tune into ESPN or ESPN2 as much as they used to, but you still know it's there, from time to time I am sure people check in and see what's going on. How many people outside of CFB season tune into FS1? I completely forget that is a station.

ESPN promoting the SEC and PAC-10 is going to be great. What a great pair. Pac-10 After Dark will be a giant promotional display. ESPN will push that time slot hard and promote it like no other that it'll feel like a primetime game. When it comes to promoting and marketing their product, ESPN is far better than FOX. When the committee is trying to figure out who is #4 or who is #5, let's say one team is an ESPN school and the other is a FOX school, I got my money on the ESPN school to get into that 4th spot because ESPN is going to out do FOX in promoting, branding and marketing.

Give me ESPN all day over FOX.
ESPN just announced they are in talks with the Big 12 to bring them in as a full partner.

Looks like the PAC's only landing spot is going to be with FOX who has no incentive to pay since they are the only ones bidding.

You aren't even kidding.

The SEC and even ACC are going to get all the good spots before most of the Pac 12 teams, a good amount of their games might get stuck on streaming only.
ESPN will basically be the SEC network and that's about it, they'll play some ACC games on the lesser channels and occasionally have teams like Clemson on the main ones. But lets not kid ourselves, ESPN is basically now just the SEC even if the other conferences are on it. And it's been trending that way for a while, which is why I'm really kind of glad the B10 is going the direction it's going. Major broadcast networks vs. a subscription channel.

I mean ESPN has basically been the SEC Network anyway for years now.

They've still carried B1G games but their overall attitude towards the B1G completely shifted after the announcement of the Big 10 Network.

Anyone on the ESPN networks is going to play far behind second fiddle to the SEC.

The Pac 12 especially is going to be treated like a 3rd class citizen. Just a "time filler".

The Pac 12 may be paying Lifetime to broadcast their games soon.

Maybe have a couple women commentators too talking about how pretty the uniforms are and how good they players look in them. Wait, that’s actually probably a dream thing for @OregonDucks

This mean Big12/PAC gonna do a merger?

With his attitude, I bet @OregonDucks is a top salesman.

He can get the customer to supersize their fries and drinks like no other.
Dude I wish they still had the supersize option. I went to McDonald's the other day because I was craving a McFlurry. I told the lady in the drive thru that i wanted the largest size possible for the McFlurry and they hand me a small cup. WTF is this? I go to McDonald's and order a McFlurry, I am not in a mood to want to be healthy, I am in a mood where I want to feel ashamed after I am done devouring the delicious treat.

What does OD eat when he wants to be "Healthy"?

Exactly, it doesn't make a difference if its on FS1 or ESPN2

This actually HURTS the pac 12 in the sense of TV exposure. They will get stuck with those late late time slots while the SEC and certain ACC teams get the prime slots. Not to mention they will get relegated to ESPN2 or whatever other secondary channels ESPN has now as well.
Can ESPNX channels be broadcast regionally? West coast states get PAC games on ESPN2/3/U, while those on the east coast get different games?

By “ESPN just denied the B1G their television deal”, you mean ESPN can’t afford to meet the going rate for the Big10

I don't think so.

Fox and CBS do it every Sunday with the NFL but those are broadcasted from local TV affiliates. ESPN doesn't work like that.

I suppose it could be done with games on ABC. In the past (not anymore) the west coast would see certain games, the middle of the country would see different games and the east coast would see different games with ABC games. Especially in the 3:30 and 8 EST time slots.

I remember this because i'd always get pissed when the local ABC here would show some shitty Pac 12 game like Stanford vs UCLA instead of the Ohio State game. This was in the ESPN Gameplan era. Before streaming was real prevalent.
