I have spent since Saturday night analyzing and figuring out the potential path for the Oregon Ducks to make the College Football Playoffs and I have found one. I don't understand why no one on the big sports stage is talking about this potential path given it could certainly add to the hype and coverage of the PAC-12 Championship game on Friday night.

But all that needs to happen is the following and it isn't that absurd to see any of this happening. Currently Oregon is #10.

Georgia beats Alabama
Iowa beats Michigan
Houston beats Cincinnati
Oregon beats Utah

That happens and the 2 loss PAC-12 champ Oregon is in. They would certainly jump any of the 2 loss non conference championship teams. Georgia is favored over alabama, so that isn't a shock. Houston is #16 so them beating Cincy is a real possibility and the big upset here would be Iowa over Michigan, but it's possible as Iowa has looked good this year.

Why is no one talking about this possibility? It isn't far fetched, if the above outcomes happen, I dont know who would get that 4th and final spot, if it wasn't Oregon.

If what I typed out happens the CFP would look like this...

1.Georgia
2. Notre Dame
3. Big 12 champ Baylor or Ok State
4. Oregon

... or maybe with your scenario it would be ....

1. Georgia
2. Notre Dame
3. Alabama
4. Iowa

If your team isn't good, why do you want to send them where they're going get their asses kicked worse than the Utah game?

What do you mean nobody is talking about it? I laid it out already last week.

But Baylor beating Okie State would help your cause too

Oh shoot @OregonDucks , we also need Notre Dame to lose this weekend too.

maybe if you ask nicely, a mod could edit your OP.

Notre Dame's season is done. They will be in, but I have no idea why Oregon would be left out if what I wrote happens. Iowa isn't jumping from 14th-15th to 4th if they beat Michigan.

Oregon would have beaten a top 15 ranked Utah team, and has that win over Ohio State at Ohio State, and would be conference champions. It's very possible Oregon can get into the playoffs still. 2 loss Alabama with no conference championship is not getting in over a 2 loss Oregon team that is conference champs.
