I'm too cheap to pay for it. It was free with Amazon prime, for the first season.

Just got renewed for a 3rd season

2nd season, so far, hasn't quite been as funny as the first but I'm still enjoying it overall
 
Haven't started the second season yet but remember that the first season ended pretty well and the show was starting to hit its grove by that point.


Still though I don't think that first season stood close to Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals.

No, this one is much better written.

Eastbound is better imo, but this is better than Vice Principals

Well Eastbound & Down is just simply one of the funniest shows to ever be created. The best creation of Danny McBride's career.

Vice Principals, while not as funny as Eastbound & Down was still really funny, especially the second season. McBride and Goggins turned out to be an incredible comedic duo.

The Righteous Gemstones, again just speaking on season 1, came off at times of trying to be more of a drama than a comedy. The laughs were fewer and further between. It did get better by the end of the season and Goggins produced the funniest scenes in the show but really didn't compare to how hilarious Eastbound & Down was consistently throughout it's entire run nor did it come close to the peaks that Vice Principals reached at various times throughout its short 2 season run.

So funnier. So anything that Danny McBride is in, needs to be a total jokathon, or its not as good?

Like I said, the writting for TRG is far superior, and we just have different definitions of what is good I guess. Eastbound and down was almost slapstick comedy, and honestly although funny, it wasnt well written to me.

Well it's a comedy, so yeah the funnier shows are better.
 
Just watching last week's episode now. Very funnyband inky about 14 minutes in so far.
 
Awesome. Now I have an excuse to binge the first two seasons for a refresh.
