Well, nothing spells TOGETHERNESS like the closed end - exclusive Rose Bowl from the 1947 game through the 2001 Game! Rose Bowl = We are all for TOGETHERNESS, as long as it is ONLY B1G and Pac teams. FWIW, any B1G or Pac team with fewer Rose Bowl wins than Alabama (5-1-1) should be ashamed!
That is the point. During the leater helmet days, the Rose Bowl was open to all teams until through the 1946 game - which was won by Alabama ironically. Then, the Rose Bowl closed shop. No !@#$, !@#$% or !@##$%^ allowed! Only B1G and Pac teams for 50 + years. Even with that, Alabama STILL has more Rose Bowl wins than all but USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Stanford and Washington from the two conferences. Heck, they have as many as UCLA. The rest of the two leagues should be ashamed. Only brought this up because of the faux tears in the newspaper article about the TOGETHERNESS of the Rose Bowl. lol. A closed exclusive club has NOTHING to do with TOGETHERNESS.To be fair almost all of those were leather helmet wins.
But yea...the Rose has long been a thorn in the side of progress of CFB. It's a good thing for college football that it is dead.

Georgia won arguably the most exciting Rose Bowl ever and set a bunch of records(probably because there was no Big Slow team involved) and has a 2-0 record in the Rose Bowl all time.Sounds like some fan bases are a little salty that they never got to experience the greatest college bowl game ever.
As someone who lived in Pasadena for a dozen years, it was always a pain in the ass for me. Between the parade and the game, it was a nightmare of crowds and idiots.Georgia won arguably the most exciting Rose Bowl ever and set a bunch of records(probably because there was no Big Slow team involved) and has a 2-0 record in the Rose Bowl all time.
That said, it’s never been anything but a pain in the ass.

I've been to the Rose Bowl Game on NYD. I went to the 2010 game and saw Ohio State beat Oregon on a glorious day. Pic attached! It's one of my top Bowl Game experiences, and I've been to 44 Bowl Games including all of the Majors.Sounds like some fan bases are a little salty that they never got to experience the greatest college bowl game ever.
