He blew his chance at a return several years ago. He could have returned within 1-2 years being out of the League, even possibly contended for a started job again. But he was a benched backup QB, about to be cut off a bad team; wanting starter money is what hurt him. What doomed him, was thinking it had to be owner collusion because of anti-woke (hi @PackJason !) racism.

Newton has a shot at a return, if he is willing to take not much more than the veteran minimum and is at backup role, at least at first.
