So yesterday I got a message on FB from some chick who says "Hey Sushi, your wife's package was misdelivered to our home by accident. I sent her a message on FB too but it doesn't seem like she's seen it".
I told my wife about it and she said she had gotten the same message from that person earlier. She said that person who messaged both of us, she has 1 mutual friend, but it's some girl she doesn't really talk to. Then I went to this girls page and it's mostly private, but her cover photo had some odd 30+ likes on it and comments. And with about 4 or 5 of the people who liked it I had mutual friends in common with them.
So the chances are this is probably some real person's account or at the very least a hacked account more likely.
My question is...what the hell is the scam here? My wife told me to ignore the message, but I'm genuinely curious where this would go in terms of a scam. Sure ok I have a package that's missing and I need to pick up. What now? You want me to pay you for it? Are you going to shank me when we meet up to get the package?
Thoughts?
