Had a conference call at 6AM, thanks to those goofy Euros.

On the plus side, I am done at 3PM, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

a rare @Guy Incognito morning thread

I'm here for it.
Had basically been staying in bed until 8:30 or so lately. Had been trying to stay on "going to the office"-ish waking up schedule, but with Little Guy being a night owl and WFH extended until at least March, I've slipped out of that habit.

I think we are WFH until June.

I am hoping it remains an option...but I think they will want us to come in a couple days a week,

I'm going to see if I can be permanent WFH or like one day a week in the office. I have no issues with going in to an office per se, but it was exceedingly rare that I got involved in any face-to-face interactions with clients, and I can do everything else from legit anywhere that I have internet.

Man you truly have ho's in different area codes!

I am thinking that's the same boat for us... Though probably only those with children will have the option to work from home whenever it goes back to the office I'm thinking

same

there isn't really any real reason for me to be on site everyday. I can do my job from the desk in my house.

I don't think my company is going to be too happy about that....they are paying for this nice big office building and want us to use it.

Most of my work is related to US and Canada vendors, but we have global clients, and some of the auditors in Europe need help. So I've been tapped to do countries I wouldn't normally be handling.

Reading a phone bill in Czech was something I don't think I ever expected to be doing with my life.

My company is actually closing some offices. I know they like their HQ in Phoenix, and the other company we merged with has a pretty big office in Rochester that they made a big deal about, but they closed the office in New Jersey and have been trying to get a smaller office in NYC. I'd be happy to help them make the business case that they don't need as many desks as they currently have.

Man you seem to have an entertaining job. I certainly know I wouldn't be able to read that phone bill. Hello Google Translate!

Might as well. It's much much cheaper to have people working from home than it is to rent office space in NJ and NY

your commute has always sucked. I'd be doing everything in my power to not have to do that going forward.

Yeah, thank goodness the nerds at Google have that stuff figured out, and it's mostly accurate. I'd be pretty much lost without that.

Yeah, it got bad once I got promoted at VZW. I had been hoping for something closer to home when I was out of work, but the best opportunities didn't work out.

If they start being dicks about coming back to the office (unlikely, but we'll see), I'm going to fire up the job search.

We have someone in the office that tested positive. He started having symptoms Friday, and hasn't been in the office since Christmas.

The manager said he can come back 10 days since he first started showing symptoms with a note from a doctor. The one guy who works from home 3 days a week is throwing a fit that it's "too soon".

I thought it was a 14 day quarantine with a positive test. Not 10. It only takes a second to catch it so it shouldn't truly matter how many days that person bitching is or isn't in the office.

I do get that is an extreme and pushing it a bit by the guy only in the office 2 days a week though..
