IMO the Vols choked against South Carolina but not against Georgia. They never should have been the #1 seed to start with. The CFP committee probably gave them more credit for the LSU and Bama wins than was really warranted.

They forced a fumble on UGA’s first drive and took the lead, then reality set in. There’s no need to make excuses. They got beat handily by a better team. It happens.

Let me be sure I have this straight. Isn't Saban making about $10.5 million/year? And he has multiple nattys, conference championships and division championships to his credit at both LSU and Bama? And Ole Miss and Kentucky are willing to pay close to Saban level salaries to coaches that don't have Saban level results? $9 million/ year to coaches that haven't even won their division much less their conference? That sounds Aggie-ish to me.

#1 made sense when you looked at schedule/performance. They weren't the best team but they had the best resume in week 1 of CFB Playoffs. Kind of doesn't matter now anyways. People panic too much about these rankings instead of letting the season play out.

All this "we would beat you on a neutral field," "we scored way more TDs against them than you did," blah, blah, all over social media. Have to admit it was fun to see your fans creep back into the background when USCjr whipped your ass. Your fanbase has been way mouthy ... they, and you collectively, are getting everything you deserve if you insist on painting with a broad brush.

3. As Impotent pointed out, your fans were horrible in the 90s. You want to know why UF, UGA and Bama hate your team so much, all you have to do is look back on the shit your fans spewed in the 90s and early 00s. We haven't forgotten. You never know, but we are the better team. They have great momentum and a dynamic QB. A really good, even elite coach. I believe we will have at least a 60/40 edge in fans, probably more. We owe LSU an ass whipping ... goodness knows they've laid the wood on us in the past. I expect a very good game.

LSU is better than they were at the beginning of the year but I think they hit the wall against UGA. I'd be pretty surprised if UGA didn't win by at least 10, don't think it'll be a 1 score game.

It's really going to be a very meh year matchup wise for the conference title games all around.

This is why you are a dick. You go through 15 years of hell and you celebrate once about a #1 ranking. Who cares if it is in the middle of the season, it is far better than being 3-5 right now like we were most years.

Not going to lie I would go after Kiffin but after that I would go after Kendal Briles. I think Kendal has a ton of upside and he is going to make mistakes but he is going to be successful somewhere.

Well Kiffins contract is heavy on incentives to get to that level so I’m board with that. I don’t know about Stoops but he became KY’s winning coach in their history so that’s some justification.

Saban makes more like 12mm now but he is underpaid because enrollment has gone though the roof and brings a lot of value. Kirby won’t be able to bring that value because UGA is maxed on enrollment as it is but Bama is trying to grow and they are up to about 40K which is close to 15K more than when he took the job. Saban is his own unique economic growth engine.
