This is the year

The stupid thing about the 12 team playoff is that this game probably doesn’t matter. Both of these teams are probably locked into a spot.
You mean it’s the cool thing about it? That game absolutely mattered as much as it should have, conference rankings and seeding. One team shouldn’t be on the outside looking in because of a 1 point game in week 7.

You're welcome to bet against Oregon making the playoffs.
My comment was made against the assumption that Oregon is locked into a bye. I would bet large amounts against them winning a conference championship game, if they make it there.

This is some soccer mentality right here. It absolutely should mean that, which is why we all love the game of college football over ice hockey or baseball .

No one holds a altruism on the view of this new age of football.

It does look like the old paradigm of 2-3 programs being miles ahead of everyone else is diminishing. NIL is robbing just enough from those elite programs to at minimum take away depth and giving that second tier more ammo to be more of a threat.

If parity at all costs is your goal it seems it is heading that way. At least adding 2-3 more to the mix.

I don't believe that goal fits everyone. Seeing those elite machines and the quality of football they played will be missed by some even if it means more fans of middling teams feel more engaged.

I don't mind more upsets, but I do miss seeing teams that played college football at its top most capability.

I think most duck fans understand the math. It's really only OD that has already punched their ticket to a fully undefeated national championship season.

Ducks will be favored in all of the rest of their games, but the odds of going undefeated is still not high because upsets are entirely the rule in college football.

Any upset won't take them out of the top 12 though, even if it's against the worst team left on their slate.

Yeah I bet them to make the Championship, but it’s still possible they don’t even get to the conference game. I think they will, but I also think they will lose.

Their multi timezone travel takes them to purdue, michigan, and wisconsin and we've seen that no teams have looked close to their same home stadium play going 2+ zones this year. Odds are they lose at least one of those, but after beating OSU it would be hard to imagine any one less knocking them out of the CCG and probably not 2 even because no other team in the B1G looks dominating enough, more or less 2 other teams both being enough to keep them out with 2 losses.

So the odds of them not making it aren't great as it stands now. Injuries and whatnot can always change things of course.

Mid season champs
They wonder why they have the bad raps as fans that they do.

I don't recall any washington fan doing this last year even after knocking oregon out of the ccg and sealing the single best season of the Pac12 era.

They really don't know how to handle short-term winning. At least these 2 chuckleheads.

Always makes it that much more fun when the losses do come.

The ducks did knock off my pre season pick to win it all (tOSU).

I'm still worried more about Texas derailing that thought in the end.
