This or That

John Deere

Bagging mower or mulcher
Sorry to interrupt, but coincidentally, I bought a John Deere S170 on Saturday and a bagger for it yesterday. I don't plan on bagging 100% of the time, but it will be really nice to have - particularly in the fall so I don't have to rake 2 acres.

I also am considering getting a bagger for my Toro Zero Turn but they want a hellava lot of coin for it so the jury is still out.

I was just thinking I might buy a bag after work. What's this about mowers now?

Yep, the bagger certainly wasn't cheap, but I trust it will last me a long time and will save me a lot of time and effort raking my yard and manually transporting grass & leaves. And if something breaks, John Deere is really good with supplying replacement parts.

The S170 I just got is replacing an ol 1991 John Deere rider we bought from an acquaintance when we bought our house. The thing is still kicking fine, but the deck is just too small for our yard. A couple years ago, the choke assembly snapped on it - I found the replacement parts for it online and fixed it myself. That's when I decided I'm sticking with John Deere.
