Camping is great until you want to sleep. Then it’s hell.
I disagree.

I really enjoy sleeping outside in one of these:

Genesis' album The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway is fucking awesome.

Enjoy your quiet free time @ill

I read plenty...but I can only read so much
You need time with your wife, but you also need time away from her. Cultivate hobbies to satisfy both for healthy balance.

People evolve and relationships evolve; you're continuously growing. One of the biggest reasons relationships fail is you're not growing together; you're growing apart. Focus on cooperative common interests to help grow with her. Maybe it's doing puzzles together & framing them for wall art or taking advanced cooking classes together or playing an MMORPG together... whatever fits your common interests... then continue to cultivate and expand those cooperative interests. And most importantly, if you do have kids, do not completely replace that cooperative growth with child-centric chores or you'll be growing apart.

appreciate the input

we also play plenty of board games (Ticket to Ride has been a recent favorite) and do puzzles in the winter and cook together all the time.

There is no worry from me on that side of things.

but I am not about to be going to bed at 8:30 because we don't have anything else to do

Man, fuck that. When I hit JFK or Newark coming back from Asia, I'm pissed I even have to wait for a flight to CLE.

Safe travels to Mrs Chicken and her folks, though.
I would almost rather just rent a car and drive home from JFK. Heck with that bus life.

You are correct though. Makes for healthy relationship. My wife absolutely hates being by herself and I treasure my alone time so we have had to compromise with that but it works

That looks like Predator caught a bunch of victims and stuffed them in nets to be eaten later.

Just don’t get her any flowers on Valentines Day.

@RobBase the idea of sleeping outside during a comfortable night in July with the stars above you doesn't sound appealing at all to you?

Sounds amazing until I actually want to sleep. Could I close my eyes and doze off for a few? Of course.

But actually get a good nights sleep without bugs and rain etc no.

If I had my own camper I could prob sleep in that but I don’t and sleeping in a camper with 5-6 other people is gross AF.
