I guess when it all comes out later we will all wonder why anyone would have trusted that "thing" to go to those depths....so many miles down and over 300 miles from nearest shores?

Very risky endeavor if you ask me...and for what? To see a ship that sank before your lifetime? There is no "connection" other than a curiosty for the 5 passengers. I just don't see how the risk involved would ever be warranted, the costs alone is way too much.... or what the interest really could be of doing something like this. It's a fucking rusty pile of junk on the bottom of the sea bed....who fucking cares!

No desire on my part to ever get in a sub of any kind. Like somebody said up-thread: I'm fine with watching the video that somebody else takes. I can only hope that these folks died instantly from a collapse, rather than suffocated slowly in an underwater coffin. Both are horrible deaths.
