tOfficial 2022 playoff push thread

Here's to hoping the Phillies start slumping like crazy & the Brewers get hot.
No way.

Dbacks for the win!

Haha - only 9.5 games behind the Phillies. Stranger things have happened, but it would be nice if we could close the gap and make the WC teams sweat a bit.

You're out. Worry about 2023.

Math says we have a 0.001%.

Dbacks making a comeback.

Brewers down 5-2 against the Reds.

KEEP THE FAITH

Dodgers already up 1-0 on the Padres.

If Brewers and Padres lose, and Dbacks win this game, it'll be a good start to the final push.

Damn, Varsho loses the ball in the outfield and Rockies tie it up.

That's what seems to happen when you walk the lead off batter.

Not much really going on.

The final NL WC spot and the NL East(which ever team doesn’t win will be the top WC) are really the only races close enough to keep an eye on. AL Central was probably wrapped up last night

They expanded the playoffs, but it would be a far more interesting with last season’s format. The WC chases would at least be interesting with 3 teams in the NL fighting for one spot and 3 in the AL fighting for two

LOL at Cleveland being in the playoffs even though they'd be in 3rd place in the AL West and 4th in the AL East.

Hey, the Cardinals won the Ws in 2006 when they only won 83 games.

They woulda been 4th in 2 divisions and 3rd in all the others.

Braves only won 88 games last year, but to be fair, they were among the best teams in the league post trade deadline, they entered October hot and stayed hot

The Guardians have played better than they Yankees the 2nd half of the season.

Not quite as good as the Astros but they aren't far off.

We had a pretty poor April & May. June was good until the end then the slagged off until early July before picking it up.

Their starting pitcher development is second to none. They’ll have a shot. Astros are rightfully heavy favorites to win the AL pennant, but anything can happen in a short playoff series

Braves were under .500 at the end of May this season. Which kinda sucks since we’d be fighting with the Dodgers for top seed in the NL if we didn’t stumble out of the gate

Cards are limping into the playoffs like someone kicked them in the knee.

I blame myself for starting the Goldy triple crown thread, of which he's out of all 3 categories now due to his massive slump.

Starting pitching has actually been kind of wishy washy this year.

Bieber has been good.

McKenzie & Quantrill are good but they are inconsistent at times, especially McKenzie

and the #4 and #5 has been a circle jerk mess. Civale has a ERA in the 5s. I guess he's been "better" since getting off the IL though (it was in the 7s). Plesac has been hurt for like a month but was mediocre (4.39 ERA)

There's been a lot of bullpen games and AAA guys filling those slots.
