How do people watch ACC football on a weekly basis?

It's inevitable that cases will spike in colleges (as well as public schools). They've been told for months that they're at the least risk for coming down with the worst results, "lost" their summer, and are no longer around their higher risk family members where they were probably scolded to not be the ones causing aunts and grandparents deaths. Now that they're around their own generation, they're going to let loose and no matter what guidelines are in place or warnings , it's going to spread rapidly in that situation.

Now that we've learned more about the effects of covid on the body, namely heart damage, it isn't enough to counteract the months of them being told they have to stay home because of the elderly.

I know Montgomery County area residents are upset, because the spike in cases are keeping them from opening and are doing remote learning.

My particular program is currently remote, but local school district approved a date of return to the hybrid plan beginning Oct. 12th. If things do not improve, or worsen, then it'll be pushed back, but this also gives local residents a date to get their stuff in order and follow guidelines, or else we'll continue remote. Even then, I doubt we'll make it a month before going back to remote, as kids will do what kids do. I do have a feeling that I'll be sleeping in the basement and isolated from my family when we do to back for precautionary reasons, which will suck, but may be for the best with immune compromised family members.

My daughter had Covid at Ole Miss about 10 days ago. Equivalent to flu for her, she's over it as of Thursday. But get this, her roommate caught it too, was asymtomatic, and then went out to a fucking party.

If you want to know why numbers increase at college, this is why. But players are better monitored than stuff like this.

First, I'm glad that your daughter recovered and had mild symptoms. I'm sure that may have given you and your family some additional stress.

I told my wife that football players are more likely to be safer, as they don't want to miss their season, compared to the general student body. However, even if they do everything right, they may still have their games/season in jeopardy due to the spikes in cases by others who do whatever they want and feel invincible.

I deleted the remainder of my post, as this is not the politics forum and do not wish to muddle the thread further.

ND at Wake postponed. Both have a bye week next week, but still might not be enough time for ND to get ready.

December 12th

I'd guess the 12th is much more likely.

After a nice start to his tenure, it's been downhill ever since. While the defense wasn't the same as it once was, there's been no consistency in offense (granted, that's nothing new). Then you have the players essentially quitting a couple years ago leading to our first losing season since the early 90s. Then you have him looking at the Baylor job.

His seat is definitely hot.
