tOfficial "Deion Sanders to Colorado" Thread

Nobody's doubting they are a better team than they were last year, but they have two wins over two teams that aren't gonna sniff a bowl game. Sanders might be good but we have no idea yet. He has the most passing yards through two games of any college QB since 2020. That QB? KJ Costello.
Well, and like Denard -- things start to unravel against better opponents but the individual talent is good enough to beat teams like Nebraska.

Yeah that sounds about right. 6-6 seems fair. It'll be interesting what the narrative is the first time they soundly lose, though.

I guess Arizona could be a good game. They aren't really good but they aren't terrible.

Arizona State and Stanford both look abysmal though.

When they lose big to one of the better teams they'll just down play it i'm betting "people looking for a reason to talk crap but look at how much better they are still than last year" type stuff. The way the media slobs on them though (especially Fox) you'd think they were legit national title contenders. They are much improved, but theyve got a long way to go still. Even 6-6 is a monumental shift from what Colorado was last year.

I resemble that.

Colorado is entirely winning because their only two games have been vs. the worst P5 defense in the nation statistically in TCU and a Nebraska team that is a trainwreck from top to bottom.
Are those two defenses ranked low BECAUSE of what Colorado's offense did to them? Thehy each only gave up 250 yards in their other games.

Not saying Colorado is a world beater, but I think their offense is legit. I think they will lose games because of their defense.

TCU played a FCS and Nebraska played a abysmal Minnesota offense in those other games. Nebraska probably has a ok defense, i'd guess TCU indeed has a bad defense though.

Colorado's passing offense is legit though i'd say. They lack a functional traditional running game though, which might end up hurting them as well.

I don't recall anyone saying Denard was going to be an NFL QB or anything though. Everyone knew he was a gadget college QB but that it wasn't sustainable. I've seen Sanders as now being projected as an early first rounder for not accomplishing a single thing yet.

I'll give Sanders his due, he's a lot better than I thought, he's definitely got the accuracy. But yea it's definitely too early to be saying he's a top 5 draft pick or even a 1st rounder.

Problem with these Pac 12 QBs though is that the pass Ds in the conference are just so bad it makes it hard to properly judge them. It's no coincidence that Michael Penix and Bo Nix who were terribly mediocre QBs in other conferences were able to step right in and sling it at will.

Nebraska's defense isn't horrible, but their offense is so horrible that it affects the defense. TCU's defense, yeah they're easily that bad. They got roasted plenty of times last year, and this year likely won't be any different.

Penix was pretty solid in his brief time in 2019 and 2020 at IU but yeah he's really taken off at Washington. Bo Nix was dog shit though, you're right. I would put Sanders over him right now.

Sanders will probably throw all over Oregon for the most part. Problem is can Colorado's OL keep him up right enough, can they avoid the mistakes?. Oregon was after the Texas Tech QB all game which forced him into some bad mistakes. That game will be interesting. It will be by far the toughest road environment Deion has ever coached in and his son has ever played in

It'll be interesting for sure. I think the same could be said about USC's defense too. Any Grinch defense is gonna be nowhere near up to the task. They'll probably look explosive in a lot of Pac12 games but I'd guess Oregon State, Utah, and even Washington State will be much more formidable.

Oregon and USC are much more capable of getting key stops than Colorado. That will be the downfall of Colorado in those games.

Like I said, outside of a couple of DBs, that Colorado defense is very shaky. The Front 7 just looks bad.

Oh no question, their defense is a big reason they're not a serious contender. Their offense should be at least solid overall but yeah, that defense will be a major liability. If Hunter gets hurt, it's definitely over.

I'm just saying -- Sanders kid looks legit. And the other teams aren't going to be contending for titles, but they aren't bottom of the barrel teams, nor are they teams who give up monster yards every week.

I think CU will be able to score a bunch this year. Their defense is another story.

A couple of 3 and outs could easily bury Colorado against the upper half Pac 12 teams with how bad their D is overall.

They can score all they want but if they get down 2 scores against the better teams thats a gigantic hill to climb for them with a D thats gonna struggle big time to get off the field without giving up points against legit offenses.

The OL is a major concern too, they are liable and likely to contribute to said 3 and outs.
