tOfficial "Deion Sanders to Colorado" Thread

Defensively, they're not horrible, that's fair. However I'm not sure I'd say it's been good enough to be 2-0. They're a LONG ways away offensively if what we saw vs Colorado's BS defense is the best they have.

They’re a toe touch TD catch in the end zone against Minnesota away from a win even with the turnovers in that game

Against Deion-Mania it was 0-0 with less than 5 minutes to play in the 2nd quarter and our offense (QB) shits the bed and next thing you know it’s 13-0 going into half.

After that it was playing catch up, more offensive turnovers and our defense carrying the load for too long. Not even gonna use altitude as an excuse because fuck Colorado

If our offense is 50% more competent we could be 2-0, 1-1 at worst.

The Colorado game woulda been a lot closer with somewhat competent QB play. Not sure they win though.

They definitely win that Minnesota game with a even average QB though.

The up and down hype wave will probably be crazy

chances are they drop the Oregon and USC games and it fades a bit.

But after that they play terrible Stanford and Arizona State teams to get the hype going again before another let down stretch against UCLA and Oregon State

I just hope Shedeur plays every snap this season. Without him, they're nothing.
Let’s be real Nebraska doesn’t have a mighty secondary and he struggled to find receivers open, I didn’t see him go through the reads typically going to the primary receiver and not looking off and that offense is basically a high school spread. I doubt he has the green light to check out of plays at the LOS.

He is an above average athlete but I’d bet money his brother has a better shot at a decent NFL career as a DB.

Colorado should fire their WR coach because his guys have no clue how to break off their routes and help a scrambling QB. It looked liked they got to the end of their route and just stood around. I’ll give Hunter credit dude played a shit ton of snaps and was blocking down field.

By “hype wave” do you mean Deion alternatively gloryhounding when they win and then bitterly pointing fingers when they lose?

Colorado reminds me a bit of USC last year. But the hole Deion is trying to dig them out of is deeper than what Riley had to deal with at USC.

While Helton wasn't good, USC still managed to win 8-10 games per season. That's not what Deion walked into at Colorado.

As we saw with USC last year, you can only rebuild 1 side of the ball at a time. USC had a lot of roster turnover...but Colorado replaced something like 83 players.

It also hurts depth. We saw that with USC towards the end of last season after they had lost some guys to injury.

I think Deion has done pretty well and he hired a good staff...but agree that this is likely a 6-6 to 8-4 level team. Just being bowl eligible would be big considering how bad they've been.

What is the minimum number of games Colorado needs to win for Coach Prime to be named Coach Of The Year? Especially for a team that had one win last season.

Two if he had the same players as last year’s Colorado team. Since this one is a hell of a lot more talented, I’m going to say if the Buffs win nine games give that man his trophy.

Holy shit. I rennet 5.50 12 packs of natty light. Have to chug em in the Texas evening heat because if they started to get even mildly cold…. The taste. But for 5.50 that was high school prime time.

Sad to say, but way too many nights I got a sixer for $5 and change when the good beer ran out

Depth will be the issue, but if Prime is serious about building something and all that shit, got to think they will recruit and transfer portal dudes over the next few seasons. If he wants can come to the big12 and definitely have a chance of winning.

I'll give Sanders his due, he's a lot better than I thought, he's definitely got the accuracy. But yea it's definitely too early to be saying he's a top 5 draft pick or even a 1st rounder.

Problem with these Pac 12 QBs though is that the pass Ds in the conference are just so bad it makes it hard to properly judge them. It's no coincidence that Michael Penix and Bo Nix who were terribly mediocre QBs in other conferences were able to step right in and sling it at will.

Penix was really good when he was on the field in 2019 and 2020, but he missed a decent chunk of 2019 and 2020 was a shortened season (and he tore his ACL in the Maryland game). Sucked in 2021, but he was also coming off said injury and that Indiana team was awful
