They couldn't get off the field in the 2nd half. YSU was able to get 1st downs and gut the damn clock. No excuse for constantly giving up 1st downs to teams like that.

This stupid new clock rule is going to help contribute to a major upset or two this year. Hopefully we aren't on the wrong end of one of those because the offense can't get going and the defense caves and lets some scrub keep grinding out 1st downs to score and kill clock.

It's a similar situation OSU fans are in with Knowles. His first year left a whole lot to be desired, but that'll happen when you overhaul your defense. Similarly we've looked better this year but the competition hasn't been great. They'll get a good test this weekend with WKU's passing offense so we'll see. I'd have to guess if neither defense steps up this year they way they should, both defenses will be needing new coordinators next year.

I give Grinch a bit of a pass for last season. You can only really rebuild 1 side of the ball in 1 off-season and Riley correctly chose offense. It's where most of USC's talent was already, he's an offensive coach and most of the portal kids that wanted to come to USC were offensive players.

This year, they concentrated more on defense. Bear Alexander (transfer from Georgia) has been a beast so far. That alone is making the defense better. I don't think USC has had a guy like him since the Pete Carroll days.

From what I've seen so far, his schemes have been pretty good. That's a big part of why they forced so many turnovers last year. He seems like he gets too cute with the defenses he calls though. In the SJSU game, the defense gave up a cheap touchdown before halftime because of it. Tried to call a complex defense with kids, most of whom were playing their first game together.

As I said though, I like what I've seen so far...but we'll see what I think after they've played a good team.

I was shocked when Bear transferred. I know UGA really could've used him this year with last year's departures. He's a freak for sure.

I hope USC gets the defense right. It'll be fun to see what they can become, especially moving forward in the B1G.

I've learned that Deon is a thin skinned little bitch. All you have to do is make fun of anything around him and he gets all triggered.

Most years that wouldn’t be a terrible thing but this Col St team is horrible.
