Suppose I had this coming. Karma is a cruel bitch.
I could have told you as soon as you looked down on an opponent another will come along and kick you in the nuts every time.

5? That's awfully generous.
The Huskers only respond to criticism. Whether that be the coaching staff, the players, or most likely a combination of the two.

They will beat Purdue. With the bye week they'll be criticized relentlessly among fans and media for the next two weeks.

There was little if any criticism leading into the Goofer game.

Oklahoma: Moral Victory
Mich State: Moral Victory
Northwestern: Victory
Michigan: Moral Victory

Minnesota: Xbox, Little Caesars $5 'Hot & Nows", and Susy Rottencrotch.

I should have trusted my instincts but I drank the Kool-Aid.

They'll need either Wiscy or Iowa to get to 5, but they won't get both.
I still expect the road loss to Wiscy, so it's Iowa in Lincoln after a weeks worth of criticism for laying an egg in Madison.

I heard Damon Benning speak at a lunch on Friday and when he was asked if they had "turned the corner" he hesitated to say and said we will know after the Gopher game on Saturday. He said Frost mentioning in a press conference "3 days til' bye week" was a little concerning and wondered where their mental state was.

I guess we found out.

Looking back at the past 3-4 years schedules/results, this program gets complacent after success.

They've never won more than 2 in a row and even the 2 are hard to come by.

This season was Fordham and Buffalo. I'd thought they could add Minnesota/Purdue to that, but NOPE.

I failed to consider those moral victories and the lack of airwaves criticism that came with them.

Do Nebraska fans want Frost back? I'd be curious as to the response on that.

This Nebraska season reminds me a lot of Notre Dame's final season under Weis. Had a veteran QB(Clausen) much like Martinez, who was playing good, but could never put it completely together and lost a ton of close games along the way. Lost close against good teams, lost close against bad teams like Nebraska is. Weis obviously didn't get another year, but we were set up pretty good with Kelly coming in.

Can the same thing happen here?

Frost is going to save his job by letting the special teams coach go.

No idea what Alberts and the boosters are gonna do. Frost has some 'close friend' support in the administrative offices and the media.

My personal opinion is that in year 4 the lack of motivation/discipline stuff among players should have washed out. Attention to detail all starts at the top.

I'd think at the very minimum there will be pressure to replace some of his 'buddy' assistants that he brought along from UCF. Could be a "Do it or else" situation. Trev Alberts knows what championship level entails, is a business personality, and has proven in a past AD job that he can be heartless. He doesn't have the same ties to the assistants that Frost does.

I won't lose sleep either way.
