I was in Malaysia to meet the ex wife's family (way back when) and they had lots of roundabouts but also drove on the wrong side of the fucking road. Drove me nuts. Almost killed a few locals.
The reason I'm probably still alive today is that I refused to drive anywhere when I was over there. I let the locals drive (cabs or otherwise) since they are accustomed to their crazy driving 'skills'!!
AND I closed my eyes a lot when in the cabs...

Years ago, a couple of friends and I used to go down to Mexico to Rosarito Beach a lot. One time we decided to leave the car at the border, walk across and take a cab so that no one had to be the designated driver.
We get a cabbie who agrees to take us and then stay in the area until we were ready to leave.
We get back to the cab at the agreed time, but no cabbie. Dude gets there about 15 minutes later and he's drunker than we are.
The ride to the border was...harrowing.
We were drunk when we got into the cab, 40 minutes later when we got out....stone cold sober.
We also never used a cab again. lol

They also have lots of scooters that clog the highways.

I also remember when the Jeepneys were pretty numerous. But I hear they're mostly gone these days.
