Thanksgiving eve, really wish Joe and Fauci could reach in their pockets and pull another pandy out right now.
 
I saw my sister’s grocery list. She planned to put mushrooms in the stuffing. Straight up fucking terrorism. Then she’s like, “oh, I know you saw something you didn’t like. But I can leave them out, or just make 2 separate ones. or I can just make mushrooms on the side - hubby loves mushrooms.”

So then I was like, “No, no- make it how you want. I said I wouldn’t interfere. Go ahead. Put mushrooms in it. It’s fine. Totally fine.” Then to twist the knife- “I don’t need to eat it.” Then to further torture her, I asked her to tell me the rest of the recipe/process so I could continue judging her. And so she shamefully told me how she uses canned chicken broth - not homemade turkey stock (!!) with nary a mention of fresh herbs, an egg to bind, diced onion or the croutons she should have made from a loaf of French bread!

Glad I have some trail mix in my car. I am so fucked.

I don't mind Thanksgiving, from a food/football perspective. And we've never been into the huge family gathering thing, so I get off easy. But agree with you from Black Friday to about January 3

I wait until after January 7-8 to return stuff since the lines before then are too damn long.
 
CDC recommends not rinsing/washing the turkey before cooking prep. They can fuck off.

Yes, germs can spread, so you don't rinse it off in proximity to clean utensils or other foods. Also clean the area where the turkey was rinsed afterwards.
