McQueen was a complicated dude. His bigraphy was super good, too. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Steve McQueen and Jim Garner are being replaced with Ashton Kutcher and [insert punkass Hollywood bullshit actor here].
Just looked up when Grand Prix came out: 1966.

Golden Age of Hollywood.

Tom Hardy reminds me of Steve McQueen for some reason. No idea why.
Steve McQueen and James Garner both refused to do awards shows or Hollywood parties. McQueen used to race dirt bikes out in Lake Elsinore close to where I lived years ago and I know a guy who's Dad saw him every time he came out there and they never once discussed who he was and this was all during the filming of Papillon.

That's the way. They get enough people fawning all over them, wanting autgraphs and pics taken. It's nice when they can meet somebody who will just treat them like a regular person.

Of course, most hollywood types would probably get offended if you DIDN'T fawn all over them.

Has Tom Hardy been cast for Boba Fett yet?

@Dole ver 2.0 ... I never knew you were a lumberjack!

Actually, my theory is that sasquatches hunt and eat people, which is why so many people go missing in deep woods or remote trails and are never found. This view is consistent with that of Native Americans in SE Washington State and Northeast Oregon.

You should learn about the making of Grand Prix, @Win TWINS!!! There are books and a documentary video. No one will ever make a movie like that, again. A Ford GT40 was used as a camera platform to film the race cars at speed on the actual circuit. The sound engineering was a feat in and of itself.

Great movie.

One of my favorite Megadeth songs was based on that movie

[Instrumental Intro]

[Verse 1]
The light that fills my lonely cell is blocked out by the key
That locks the door to this hell, the place they wanted me
Time's racing like the wind, execution's near
Oh, Lord, I wait for death, and yes, I have no fear
I recall that night, my every breath and step along the way
Closed my eyes, walking as danger paved the way
The Devil and the darkness, let her evil wander free
Here on Devil's Island, the final stop for me

[Chorus]
Devil's Island
Devil's Island

[Verse 2]
Oh, there is no escape, the sea is full of sharks
Tide takes you away and smashes you on the rocks
The sun is shining, but feel not today
Its warmth, it's dying and fading away

[Chorus]
Devil's Island
Here I stay
Devil's Island
[Verse 3]
Oh, hear the call from the grave beyond
Oh, so pernicious, her soul it creates song
As there is no man that is here upon the Earth
Able to terminate our noisome will since birth
The priest that reads the sermon is walking next to me
To the stake, my last request, to have her burn with me
But, so it did, the heavens opened, rain began to fall
The final judgment came and was spread before you all!

[Bridge]
Final judgment...

[Guitar Solo]

[Verse 4]
Old, weak, and feeble, and the lesson taught to me
Stay away from evil, she doesn't care for me
She haunts me in my sleep, though I tore that page away
Here on Devil's Island, I'll always have to stay

[Chorus]
Devil's Island
Devil's Island
Devil's Island
Devil's Island

Here I am
