I just never had any interest in trying them. It may be because the one time I went ice skating, I got tired of falling on my ass, and since I was so good on regular skates, I felt no need to go through that just to skate with wheels in a different configuration.

At the risk of sounding like a shit (since, of course, that never happens, teehee), I have a tough time imagining you could do many tricks if you couldn't even skate backwards well.

Oh, I didn't mean that. I never skated on anything but roller rink floors and on streets, but when I think of "tricks," I think of changing directions, and such. Then again, as long as one had rhythm, one could do some cool stuff all while facing forward.

It would be really fun to go to a roller rink, again. I wonder if I could still do half the shit I used to be able to do.

I was the same. Good enough on roller skates but not good enough to do the fancy tricks or inline.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant...I could at least do some fancy spins and stuff on the standards. Could never do that with blades or my feet would go right out from under me

Ah, see, I was thinking if someone couldn't skate backwards, they couldn't really spin, or anything.
