Honestly? I kinda am when it comes to colds. They beat me up. I had the croup til I was 10. Supposed to go away at like 3. My parents were fuckups in a way. They both smoked, drank and drugged while my mom was pregnant with me, and in the house thereafter. I ostensibly smoked from conception 'til I was 38, when I was forced to quit cuz of open heart surgery(double bypass). I picked up the habit at like 12, and smoked 'til then.

I am stubbornly tough in all other regards, but I will admit, I am terrified of colds. They kill me.

Had no idea. Can't say I blame you. My wife had an aortic valve replacement quite a few years ago (lupus related) and any kind of illness is pretty rough on her. So I get you treating that with an abundance of caution.

I've seen your heart surgery mentioned on here, but didn't figure it was really any of my business, so I never asked about it. Glad you got through it.
