I’m the same way. I wanted them to numb my leg and let me watch my knee surgery(they wouldn’t go for it), but I have a thing about my eyes. Like I won’t switch to contacts because I don’t think I’d ever get used to touching my eyeballsNo, she'll still hafta wear glasses. She has an eye turn. Not quite a "lazy eye", but a pretty significant eye turn.
I guess the procedure is pretty routine, but still...eyes make me squeamish. I can watch an ankle surgery or some shit, while eating spaghetti and not even miss a step, but eyes get to me.
My daughter is handling it better than I am.

Had Lasik in 2001. still 20/20 (although I should get it checked) and so very happy with it.
I never got numb to it. I have extremely sensitive eyes, apparently. I wore gas perms for about 8 years and they bugged the crap out of me every day. And if I got the least little bit of dirt or trash in my eye while wearing them, it was like somebody was stabbing my eye with a corkscrew.you would
it's a reflex that you get numb to over time. I used to hate that shit too, but could thump my damn eyebawl now and not blink

One day I lost a lens on the way home and just said "that's it." Never wore another pair.
I hope they don't still make gas perms. Those things were awful. I was never a candidate for soft lenses back then because of my scripts. Not sure if that's changed but I'll never ask about it again, either way.Numb to the reflex of your eye snapping shut when getting them in and out of your eyes?
As far as comfortability goes, idk much about the gas perm ones. I've heard bad things, but I've never actually had one of those in my eyes. I know I tried a bunch of different kinds when I had to go into these toric lenses and couldn't find any that didn't feel like sandpaper in them at first.....then tried these Acuvue Oasis lenses and it was like night and day. The eye doctor told me that's just how it works sometimes. Some lenses just aren't compatible with some people.
