Like I won’t switch to contacts because I don’t think I’d ever get used to touching my eyeballs

Same. My optometrist finally quit trying to get me to switch. I tell her, "I don't trust myself to not poke out my own eye." lol

Pretty sure they still do and I think my mom wears those bitches or used to at least. What was the problem with the script and softs? My eyes are fucking terrible and they make them like more than twice as strong as I would need lel.
I have two different eye probs. One eye is astigmatic, the other is near-sighted. Since contacts always come in pairs, I would have had to buy two sets or gotten custom ones -- but that would have cost so much more. So the compromise was to get gas perms and they toric'd one lens.

A better eye doctor could probably have worked something different out. Or, I could have asked better questions, I was a stupid 19 year old when I first got them.

Aahhh i gotcha. I guess if you had both of those problems in both eyes like me you would be better off than having one problem in each. Never thought about that.

I'm thinking of going the Lasek route but hate wearing glasses so much that I don't want to wear them for 6 weeks even if it means never wearing them or contacts again lulz

Are you a candidate? I got tested and my corneas are too thin by a millimeter or two, which is a big deal for the surgery, I guess. I’m stuck with glasses/contacts fo’ lyfe or until the technology improves.

They've never measured. I am good from a prescription standpoint, but I've never had a consultation with a guy who does the surgeries.

I read on their website that if you have astigmatism and contacts then you have to sport the glasses for like 6 weeks for your eyes to "adjust" back to normal. But I haven't worn glasses for more than a few hours for like 20 years so my shit is like waaaaay the fuck unused to it. Plus my eyesight is fucking terrible so glasses (the ones i have anyways) completely fuck up my peripheral vision. I guess imma have to suck it up and look like fucking Bubbles from TPB for awhile though if I want it done.
